One of the best things about being on the Animal Encounters team is that no two days are alike but all include the same basic elements- caring for animals and engaging with guests! A large portion of the day will be spent caring for a range of species that help to make up the Animal Programs department collection. Just a few of the animals you could provide husbandry for are macaws, opossums, servals, sloths, ball pythons, even hissing cockroaches! Our morning husbandry includes cleaning habitats as well as back of house habitats, making enrichment, and prepping diets. The Houseperson is responsible for cleaning and maintaining public areas of the lodge: hallways, elevators, main public bathrooms, fitness rooms, garage and assisting housekeepers with general cleaning of guest rooms if needed. This includes vacuuming, shampooing of carpets, cleaning/waxing of floors, trash removal, stocking and maintaining supply rooms, keeping the exterior grounds clean, sweeping, snow removal and other cleaning duties.
