This is a hybrid position based out of our Sunnyvale, CA Headquarters.
The Dev Platforms and Experiences (DPX) organization has the mission of making everyone in LinkedIn R&D more productive and successful. The charter includes all our core developer infrastructure to Build, Test and Deploy our software, the applications frameworks that we leverage to build our user facing products and the Platform capabilities that power our product innovation.
We are looking for a Sr. Director to help build out our Testing Infrastructure and Automation teams. LI is going through a massive transformation across our core Infrastructure, Application frameworks and finally the way we structure our code (moving from highly fragmented multiple repositories to a few large repos), which will fundamentally change our developer experience. Any change requires validation and our validation infrastructure needs to be rebuilt to help us navigate these changes with predictability and reliability without slowing down the engineering organization. In addition to validation, to accelerate these transformations, automation will have to play a key role and this leader will be responsible for defining our automation strategy and how we can leverage AI to make our engineers more productive.
Responsibilities:
-You will build and ship software, drive architectural decisions and implementation across teams.
-You will drive the adoption of cutting-edge solutions and methods to enable innovative developer focused tools and applications.
-You will actively improve the level of craftsmanship at LinkedIn by developing best practices and defining best strategies.
-You will lead cross team/cross-functional discussions and drive alignment on technology -strategy.
-You will define the bar for quality and efficiency of software systems while balancing business impact, operational impact and cost benefits of design and architectural choices.
-You will act as one of the primary domain experts to influence technology choices.
-You will lead by example to build a culture of craftsmanship and innovation.
Basic Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field - Computer Science, Operational Research, Statistics, Economics or related fields
-15+ years of experience in management positions
Preferred Qualifications
-Experience managing teams of 80+ individuals and first/second-line managers. Ability to lead by example and inspire the team to perform at a high level and collaborate very well across different teams.
-Good understanding of large-scale engineering systems.
-Engineering development experience, building products and backend systems, infrastructure services.
-Background in leverage LLM to build products (preferably developer focused applications).

The pay range for this role is $227,000 to $373,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. About the team and role

In the state of California, the reasonably expected salary range is between $145,000 [minimum salary in our lowest geographic market within California] to $192,000 [maximum salary in our highest geographic market within California].
In the United States, outside of California, the reasonably expected salary range is between $101,000 [minimum salary in our lowest US geographic market outside of California] to $182,500 [maximum salary in our highest US geographic market outside of California].
