As a Bus Driver for the Youth Services Division, you will operate a passenger bus to transport program participants to and from City facilities, public school sites, and other sites throughout Gaithersburg for daily programs and activities and on occasional day trips into Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and the surrounding area. A valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with Passenger (P) endorsement, a Department of Transportation (DOT) Certificate, and a safe driving record are required.

Job Functions
What you will do with us:
Drive a passenger bus to transport program participants to and from City facilities, public school sites, and other sites throughout Gaithersburg.
Obey all traffic laws and observe all safety regulations at all times.
Greet passengers and answer questions; maintain a safe and clean environment.
Assist patrons with boarding and exiting the bus when needed.
Load, unload, and transport recreation equipment to daily activities when required.
Perform basic maintenance checks and report problems to direct supervisor.
Inspect and maintain bus interior (sweep, dispose of trash, etc.).

Qualifications
What you will need to be considered:
At least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Class B CDL with Passenger (P) endorsement and safe driving record.
Department of Transportation (DOT) Certificate.
At least one year of experience driving a passenger bus.
Ability to speak clearly and understand, follow, and provide written and oral instructions and directions.
Demonstrated ability to follow safety procedures and to concentrate and pay close attention to detail, particularly in poor driving conditions and with numerous interruptions by passengers.
CPR/AED and First Aid certification (may be obtained through the City upon hire).
Ability to lift/carry objects/materials weighing up to 60 pounds.
