Responsibilities

  • Assigns specific exams to technologists; ensures scheduled exams are completed as ordered
  • Performs basic preventative maintenance on equipment; orders repairs as needed.
  • Order supplies to maintain adequate operating procedures.
  • Ensures all patients and patient information is logged
  • Collects and reports patient and procedure statistics for the shift to the immediate supervisor every month and annualizes information at year-end.
  • Develops work schedules for specific shifts and work areas; ensures optimal staff levels.
  • Demonstrates a positive leadership role.
  • Demonstrates financial responsibility when scheduling.
  • Participates in the administrative call schedule for the department.
  • Provides adequate and timely communications with staff.
  • Encourages involvement and participation from the staff in departmental operations.
  • Alters activities and behaviors to reflect and ensure adequate care appropriate to the age of patients served (i.e. adolescent, geriatric, pediatric, neonatal, and adult).
  • Meets monthly with staff and maintains documentation of all communications.
  • Participates in quality improvement and/or quality assurance for the department.
