Develop, expand, and cultivate a qualified client base using various marketing strategies, including entertainment, direct mail, referrals, advertising, trade shows, cold calls, and other promotional activities.
Solicit and establish customer needs to provide tailored solutions.
Negotiate pricing and terms within company policy.
Take and submit orders for services.
Develop expertise in estimating and cost analysis.
Prepare estimates for planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors/subcontractors, and determining cost-effectiveness.
Consult with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to discuss estimates and resolve issues.
Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for project phases.
Respond to customer and subcontractor inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Oversee, monitor, and audit job sites for quality control through on-site visits and feedback from Project Managers and customers.
Collaborate with the Project Manager and Director of Sales for contract plan review and clarification.
Train assigned sales staff and contribute to their development.
Actively participate in professional and trade organizations, providing input to industry councils and arranging training sessions as necessary.
Develop, submit, implement, manage, and report on sales goals and business development plans.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of existing and new product services.
Gather and report information on competitor activities.
Assist in collections from delinquent accounts.
Maintain close, positive working relationships with field and administrative departments.
Skills & Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Construction Management.
Minimum of five years in direct sales (not telemarketing or inside sales).
Ability to read and estimate from blueprints.
Experience in estimating within a paving, landscaping, or construction environment is a plus.
Strong mathematical and geometric skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
