    The Marketing & Events Specialist is responsible for assisting in executing S&B's annual marketing and communications plans and initiatives, ranging from tradeshows and corporate events to marketing and branding initiatives. The role is responsible for creating event strategies and coordinating with key vendors, sponsors, and other stakeholders, to ensure a seamless event from beginning to event. This position also supports the annual marketing and communications plan by assisting with the launch and creation of key campaigns, content, and programs to deliver a strong brand message to the market. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE * Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Marketing & Communications, including a minimum of 3 years of event planning and industry tradeshow coordination experience in a corporate environment. * Prior experience with supporting brand and marketing campaigns and programs, as well as hands-on experience with email marketing, including prior use of email platforms for creation and distribution of emails and list management. * Must excel working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. * Must have strong organizational and project management skills, as well as attention to detail. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as outstanding copywriting and proofreading skills. * Must be a self-starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. * Ability to work across all levels of the organization with excellent communication skills. * Must have strong organizational skills to track budgets and guest/attendee responses. * Familiar with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and capable of creating visually compelling presentations. * Canva and Adobe CC Suite experience (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) are a plus, but not required. * Must have a high level of creativity and a positive, motivated team player. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Serve as lead Marketing and Communications team member to manage marketing/corporate events, such as sponsorships, tradeshows, and internal events. Deliver recommended plans and budget to drive key participation and expected results. Includes space selection, show services, accommodations, event sponsorships and special events within budgetary guidelines. * Support internal and commercial department initiatives with the planning and execution of tradeshows events. Includes support for logistics, managing registrations, coordinating with vendors, creating itineraries, and ordering signage and other marketing collateral. * Coordinate event marketing campaigns, including copy, scheduling, testing, and database management. * Assist with developing and managing content and social media related to all applicable events. * Evaluate and monitor event follow-up through surveys and reporting of key KPIs and feedback. * Manage vendors, budgets and RSVPs and other questions and requests for assigned tradeshows/corporate events. * Conduct research and identify trends, options, and strategies to best position company events aligned with S&B's goals and plans. * Support annual Marketing & Communications strategy and plans through development of effective communications, programs/projects and campaigns to drive awareness, credibility and consideration. Plans will range in scope from marketing and brand campaigns for lead generation/brand positioning, corporate videos, video testimonials, graphic design project management, etc. * Support other Marketing & Communications activities as needed to support company business plan and goals. LANGUAGE SKILLS Excellent communication skills are essential for this position. In addition to the qualifications already identified, the ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical bulletins, and government regulations is a plus for this role. The ability to write reports and business correspondence is also a requirement as is the ability to effectively deliver oral presentations and to respond to questions from groups of managers, engineers, clients, and suppliers. Job success often hinges upon interpersonal communication and relationship development skills, and job tasks require frequent interchange and successful completion depends in large part upon effective interaction and communication with others. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Position requires the ability to effectively manage and track ongoing marketing and events budgets in addition to key analytics to accurately report on event and marketing campaign outcomes. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Position requires the ability to hear normal conversation, see near objects and speak clearly. Occasionally may participate in a field trip to a job site which requires the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance. Lifting up to 25 pounds unassisted may be required. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Most work performed in office environment with hybrid schedule. Research and development may require travel. Must be able to balance the demands of competing workloads to achieve deadlines and priorities. Focus and drive incident reduction and demonstrate a commitment to reduce rotating equipment operational and maintenance safety risks. * Lead team during pre-commissioning; commissioning and start-up. * Develop maintenance/overhaul plans for large and complex rotating equipment trains, including detailed scopes of work, documentation packages and quality plans. Support execution of large rotating equipment trains during PM and T/A events. Inspect and assure compliance for all parameters of established repair/installation hold points. The role requires ability to simulate new and existing refining units in support of early FEL project activities. Requires in depth knowledge and experience in Process/Design Engineering, as well as ability to independently make decisions on significant process design problems and methods. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for technical direction and assistance to a group of engineers and technicians assigned to highly complex projects in refineries. EDUCATION Normally requires at least a four-year degree in Chemical Engineering. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Requires a minimum of fifteen (15) years' experience in Process/Design Engineering or related functional area (or equivalent working knowledge/experience). Strongly prefer refining experience. This includes proficiency in utilizing various computer simulation software packages. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Communicates with client and other team members to determine project requirements and coordinates with site to obtain operations data. * Simulates new and existing refining facilities to evaluate options and support FEL design. * Communicates process design to client and other design disciplines. * Acts as refining subject matter expert for team, providing guidance on preparation of design basis, PFDs, and equipment specifications. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients, managers, designers and engineers. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Occasionally, will conduct or participate in a field trip to an operating plant or construction site. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required. WORK ENVIRONMENT Normal work environment will be a business office with moderate noise. Occasionally, may visit or be temporarily assigned to work in an operating plant or at an construction site. This may require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, work near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals and airborne particles. Job Description
The Marketing & Events Specialist is responsible for assisting in executing S&B's annual marketing and communications plans and initiatives, ranging from tradeshows and corporate events to marketing and branding initiatives. The role is responsible for creating event strategies and coordinating with key vendors, sponsors, and other stakeholders, to ensure a seamless event from beginning to event. This position also supports the annual marketing and communications plan by assisting with the launch and creation of key campaigns, content, and programs to deliver a strong brand message to the market.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Marketing & Communications, including a minimum of 3 years of event planning and industry tradeshow coordination experience in a corporate environment.

* Prior experience with supporting brand and marketing campaigns and programs, as well as hands-on experience with email marketing, including prior use of email platforms for creation and distribution of emails and list management.

* Must excel working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

* Must have strong organizational and project management skills, as well as attention to detail.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as outstanding copywriting and proofreading skills.

* Must be a self-starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

* Ability to work across all levels of the organization with excellent communication skills.

* Must have strong organizational skills to track budgets and guest/attendee responses.

* Familiar with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and capable of creating visually compelling presentations.

* Canva and Adobe CC Suite experience (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) are a plus, but not required.

* Must have a high level of creativity and a positive, motivated team player.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Serve as lead Marketing and Communications team member to manage marketing/corporate events, such as sponsorships, tradeshows, and internal events. Deliver recommended plans and budget to drive key participation and expected results. Includes space selection, show services, accommodations, event sponsorships and special events within budgetary guidelines.

* Support internal and commercial department initiatives with the planning and execution of tradeshows events. Includes support for logistics, managing registrations, coordinating with vendors, creating itineraries, and ordering signage and other marketing collateral.

* Coordinate event marketing campaigns, including copy, scheduling, testing, and database management.

* Assist with developing and managing content and social media related to all applicable events.

* Evaluate and monitor event follow-up through surveys and reporting of key KPIs and feedback.

* Manage vendors, budgets and RSVPs and other questions and requests for assigned tradeshows/corporate events.

* Conduct research and identify trends, options, and strategies to best position company events aligned with S&B's goals and plans.

* Support annual Marketing & Communications strategy and plans through development of effective communications, programs/projects and campaigns to drive awareness, credibility and consideration. Plans will range in scope from marketing and brand campaigns for lead generation/brand positioning, corporate videos, video testimonials, graphic design project management, etc.

* Support other Marketing & Communications activities as needed to support company business plan and goals.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Excellent communication skills are essential for this position. In addition to the qualifications already identified, the ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical bulletins, and government regulations is a plus for this role. The ability to write reports and business correspondence is also a requirement as is the ability to effectively deliver oral presentations and to respond to questions from groups of managers, engineers, clients, and suppliers. Job success often hinges upon interpersonal communication and relationship development skills, and job tasks require frequent interchange and successful completion depends in large part upon effective interaction and communication with others.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Position requires the ability to effectively manage and track ongoing marketing and events budgets in addition to key analytics to accurately report on event and marketing campaign outcomes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position requires the ability to hear normal conversation, see near objects and speak clearly. Occasionally may participate in a field trip to a job site which requires the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance. Lifting up to 25 pounds unassisted may be required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Most work performed in office environment with hybrid schedule. Research and development may require travel. Must be able to balance the demands of competing workloads to achieve deadlines and priorities.
