Performs and directs overall store management. Responsible for inventory and money control systems. Directs staff to ensure that food safety, product preparation, and cleanliness standards are maintained. Maintains standards of restaurant safety and security. Recruits staff and oversees training program. May contact prospective customers to promote sales. Responsible for local marketing initiatives. Maintains business records. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Completes and posts the staff work schedules.
Manages a staff of approximately 4 to 12. Assigns, oversees and evaluates work. Recommends promotion, transfer, or termination of employees. Conduct written and verbal staff evaluations.
Communicates changes of food preparations formulas, standards, etc. to staff.
Supports local and national marketing initiatives.
Ensures that all local and national health and food safety codes are maintained and company safety and security policy are followed.
Identifies and contacts prospective customers to promote sales.
Requirements
Pr-requisites:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent, college degree preferred.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years in QSR environment, experience in supervising and training staff. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical:
Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register.
Position requires bending, standing, walking and repetitive use of hands and arms the entire workday.
Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Position requires the ability to handle exposure to food and cleaning chemicals on an hourly basis.
Must have the ability to work a minimum of 40 to 50 hours a week.
Must have reliable transportation and the ability to be on call 24 hours a day.

How you will contribute
The Culinary Manager is responsible for the preparation and service of meals as well as the sanitation of the kitchen facilities. The Culinary Manager assists in the inventory and ordering of food and supplies. This position supervises, coordinates, and trains culinary staff and ensures that meals are prepared utilizing FDA's Dietary Guidelines and meet regulatory standards. This position develops and ensures that culinary staff follow the daily posted menu, accommodating for special diets when needed.

Essential Responsibilities
Serves as a key member of the nutrition team, meets client dietary needs, plans and updates menus taking into consideration any identified food preferences and allergies.
Creates, updates, and ensures compliance with all health and safety guidelines for storage and preparation of food items including temperature controls.
Ensures all kitchen appliances are in good working order and are cleaned and disinfected on a routine basis.
Oversees purchasing, preparation, service, and cleaning of all client-related food activities.
Creates, implements, and monitors cleaning schedules; validates tasks are regularly performed.
Avoids food waste whenever possible by ensuring culinary staff keep accurate counts for meals.
Supervises and coordinates staffing & schedule for the culinary department.
Maintains inventory system for all foodservice locations to ensure appropriate, budgeted purchasing ensuring that needed food items and materials are on hand.
Provides leadership and supervision for the Culinary Assistants to include hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.

Assists in the development and implementation of food service department policies and procedures.
Maintains professional relationships with foodservice vendors including purchasing.

Education and Experience
Position requires an associate degree in Foodservice Management or equivalent and 3+ years' experience in a Food Management position, preferably within a healthcare setting, and a minimum of 1 year experience in a leadership position. Must have Safe Serve certification or obtain upon hire.
