Essential Functions * Performs a variety of research and laboratory procedures using independent judgment. * Assists the Principal Investigator in designing and performing experiments. * Works with small animals to include performing and assisting with surgery. * Performs animal surgery, genotyping and sample analysis, cell isolation and culture, bacteria culture, western blotting, RNA/DNA isolation, PCR and immunostaining. * Maintains laboratory in an orderly manner. * Follows appropriate safety procedures. * Regular and prompt attendance. * Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required. * Related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Level I: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Ecology, Limnology, or closely related at the time employment begins; no experience required. Level II: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Ecology, Limnology, or closely related discipline plus 2 years of experience relevant to the position.
