Those hired must ALSO have a background in African American, American, women and gender studies, anthropology, social history, economics, politics, STEM/medicine, the arts, business, etc. The researcher will be responsible for: Conducting in depth background research on various subject matters to create in depth chronological timelines that average 30+ pages outlining the contributions of African Americans to that subject category from first the first contributor to the present as well as other reference sources and compiling a list of reference materials. Conducting in depth background research on selected African Americans to locate their contact information and biographical information prior to interviews using the Internet and online resources. Preparing detailed research outlines as well as long, short biographies and short descriptions in accordance with The HistoryMakers guidelines. Performing data entry using The HistoryMakers FileMaker Pro database as well as scanning documents and organizing them in archival folders after the interview is completed. Skills The candidate must have a master's degree in African American history, history, politics, women and gender studies, politics or a related degree. He/she must possess strong administrative (type 65 wpm) and organizational skills and be a very strong researcher/writer, adept at proofreading and able to multi-task. The central vision of CDIS is to bridge the gap between public health/medical knowledge (what we know) and public health/medical practice (what we do). D&I science is essential to realize the full impact of public health and medical research. Traditional, passive dissemination strategies such as publishing clinical recommendations, trials, or guidelines are insufficient for realizing practice change. Innovative, proactive strategies for increasing the implementation and sustainability of evidence-based interventions in community and clinical settings are essential for improving population health and driving health care innovation. This Research Study Assistant (RSA) will support the Principal Investigator on an NIH-funded program called The Research Adoption Support Center: SUD Implementation Core (RASC). RASC is a support center that helps projects funded through the National Institute on Drug Abuse's Data2Action network to infuse implementation science methods, models, and measures into their work. The RSA will specifically support the Substance-Use Disorder (SUD) Implementation Core, aimed at bringing the best of Dissemination & Implementation science to the Innovation Projects to guide the selection, implementation, and sustainment of evidence-based, locally appropriate SUD interventions to reduce overdose risk in communities with the greatest burden. Activities include reviewing the current evidence-base for effective SUD treatments among communities most at risk for overdose; generate pragmatic implementation science tools; adapt implementation science tools for different users in the community (researchers, frontline staff, etc.); liaise with Innovation Project leads; and communicate with multisite team members via phone/Zoom/email. **Department:** Recovery The **CDBG-DR Managing Associate** will help navigate complex Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program and policy development, implementation, and successful outcomes challenges for our clients.
