Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Real Estate, Geography, Urban Planning, or related field Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in commercial real estate marketing, aerial imagery creation, or market analysis, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), or aerial data maintenance. Proven experience working with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) for creating and updating visual content. November 27, 2023 The Rev. Dr. Stephen Cady has been named president of Brite Divinity School. Brite, one of five Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) seminaries is located on the campus of Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth, Tex. Rev. Dr. Cady will begin his term on March 4, 2024. The announcement comes after a seven-month nationwide search that allowed students, faculty, staff, and members of the Brite and TCU communities opportunities to interact with candidates and provide feedback. Brite's seven-member search committee, chaired by Brite Board of Trustees Vice Chair, Rev. Virzola Law, was assisted by the nationally-recognized, education-focused executive search firm Storbeck Search. "I am honored and humbled to serve as the next President of Brite Divinity School," said Cady. "My prayer is that our mutual ministry together might raise the profile of Brite so that it might be a beacon of hope for a new generation of faith leaders." Our team spans basic "bench-top" science, clinical research, community-based research and clinical trials. Our translational approach is intended to foster discovery and expedite those discoveries toward the benefit of those suffering from brain disease. A particular emphasis of ITR is the development of personalized (or person-focused) medicine for Alzheimer's disease. The candidate will join team members on cutting-edge laboratory and analytical projects to research, develop, and evaluate heat and mass transfer in absorbent materials (e.g., hydrogels), components, and systems, including conventional and non-conventional HVAC , paper drying, adsorption heat pumps, thermal energy storage, and other building energy systems. Preferred Degree: Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science or relevant other engineering or science field Essential Duties And Responsibilities General Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidate should have a strong background and understanding of polymeric materials development, (i.e., hydrogels and MOF ), adsorption or absorption processes, heat and mass transfer, including theory, numerical modeling, and experiments. The candidate will contribute to the design, analyses, and verification of the absorption component and system. The researcher is expected to document work/results in reports, presentations, conferences, archival journal papers, as well as to interact with UT Dallas and NREL partners in industry, academia, and national laboratories. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Perform absorbent materials synthesis and characterization including but not limited to SEM , FTIR , UV-vis, DSC , TGA , Vapor sorption analysis, BET . Develop a heat and mass transfer numerical or Multiphysics model for adsorption component and systems for guiding materials development. Develop engineering models, component design and optimization and determine the most efficient materials, operations, and processes with techno-economic analysis. Lead the system optimization for future lab-scale and pilot demonstration. Assist in project management, including report writings, paper publications, and presentations in program review or conferences. Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The researcher has the opportunity to be involve in in-depth and multifaceted disciplines in chemical, mechanical, and material engineering. The candidate should have course works in thermal science, chemical engineering, and material science, and demonstrated expertise in the area of adsorption process, heat transfer, and thermal modeling. Familiar with hygroscopic and hydrophilic polymer synthesis and characterization. Experience with computational tools for heat and mass transfer. Familiar with ANSYS Fluent / COMSOL / Matlab. Coursework in thermodynamics, heat transfer, chemical theories, and energy system modeling, and the ability to formulate and solve engineering problems. A postdoctoral position in microfluidics, integrated sensing electrodes, and immunoengineering is immediately available in the laboratory of Caroline N. Jones in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Texas at Dallas. The Jones Laboratory of Immunoengineering and Therapeutics focuses on the engineering innovative lab-on-a-chip platforms to model and study immune cell-pathogen interactions with single cell precision. The researcher will initially focus on two funded research projects: NIH -funded project aimed at developing and validating novel platforms to detect and better understand sepsis. This project involve collaboration with UT Southwestern Medical Center and communication with critical care physicians and surgeons. This project involves isolating primary human immune cells from septic patients and measuring changes in function. The goal of the Jones research laboratory is early detection and ultimately to decipher the basic mechanisms that lead to inflammation and to translate these findings into the development of targeted anti-inflammatory therapeutics. Work on collaborative project to create automated microfluidics with integrated sensing circuit arrays. This work is in collaboration with Dr. Leo Bleris and Dr. Yiorgos Makris. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, or related fields. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Essential duties will include: 1) Planning and executing experiments according to approved research protocols; 2) Establishing new protocols for electrode-based DNA sensing; 3) Quantitative data analysis including statistical evaluations, image processing, write reports, abstracts, manuscripts and assist with grant writing. 4) Training and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in the laboratory. A successful record of authorship on peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations is recommended. Researchers with background in the development microfluidic devices, electrodes, biosensors, biomaterials and experience with translational research are particularly encouraged to apply.
