Those hired must ALSO have a background in African American, American, women and gender studies, anthropology, social history, economics, politics, STEM/medicine, the arts, business, etc. The researcher will be responsible for: Conducting in depth background research on various subject matters to create in depth chronological timelines that average 30+ pages outlining the contributions of African Americans to that subject category from first the first contributor to the present as well as other reference sources and compiling a list of reference materials. Conducting in depth background research on selected African Americans to locate their contact information and biographical information prior to interviews using the Internet and online resources. Preparing detailed research outlines as well as long, short biographies and short descriptions in accordance with The HistoryMakers guidelines. Performing data entry using The HistoryMakers FileMaker Pro database as well as scanning documents and organizing them in archival folders after the interview is completed. Skills The candidate must have a master's degree in African American history, history, politics, women and gender studies, politics or a related degree. He/she must possess strong administrative (type 65 wpm) and organizational skills and be a very strong researcher/writer, adept at proofreading and able to multi-task. The central vision of CDIS is to bridge the gap between public health/medical knowledge (what we know) and public health/medical practice (what we do). D&I science is essential to realize the full impact of public health and medical research. Traditional, passive dissemination strategies such as publishing clinical recommendations, trials, or guidelines are insufficient for realizing practice change. Innovative, proactive strategies for increasing the implementation and sustainability of evidence-based interventions in community and clinical settings are essential for improving population health and driving health care innovation. This Research Study Assistant (RSA) will support the Principal Investigator on an NIH-funded program called The Research Adoption Support Center: SUD Implementation Core (RASC). RASC is a support center that helps projects funded through the National Institute on Drug Abuse's Data2Action network to infuse implementation science methods, models, and measures into their work. The RSA will specifically support the Substance-Use Disorder (SUD) Implementation Core, aimed at bringing the best of Dissemination & Implementation science to the Innovation Projects to guide the selection, implementation, and sustainment of evidence-based, locally appropriate SUD interventions to reduce overdose risk in communities with the greatest burden. Job Title: Activities Instructor- Part-Time / non-exempt Department: Facilities Reports To: Recreational Program Coordinator Summary: With passion and dedication to excellence, the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track & Field Center Activities Instructor will build, establish, and promote the facility by applying proven instruction methods that both inspire and guide each student regardless of age, experience, or knowledge of a wide variety of different recreational activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provides instruction and supervision to patrons in sports, games, and competitive athletics. Demonstrates proper techniques and skills for recreation and athletics. Adapts programs to reflect differing levels of participant skill development. Provides instruction in advanced strategies of team and individual sports, physical fitness, and conditioning. Provides information on rules of individual and team sports. Explains basics of organized activities. Enforces and promotes safety guidelines for recreation and athletic activities Resolves conflicts among participants. Officiates team and individual sports. Promotes sportsmanship and encourages creativity in participants. Communicates constructively with participants, parents, volunteers and community Professional Requirements: Previous teaching experience in a group setting required. Ability to teach fitness classes related to: Soccer, Basketball, Flag Football Baseball, Volleyball and General Fitness Self-motivated, with excellent communication and customer service skills. Punctual, reliable, organized, and responsible. Keeps management informed of customer and facility needs. Ensures that safety standards are met, and that department and facility policies are adhered to. Performs related duties as required.
