Maintain area, equipment, and personal sanitation.
De-box/unwrap cheese from original packaging.
Weigh cheese when applicable.
Manual Measurement and countdown of cheese needed for customer and order specs.
Inspect/clean cheese.
Maintain accurate production records.
Keep line stocked with product to assure no down time.
Operate cutters and lifting equipment.
Load cheese into machines / onto equipment for further processing.
Pack and seal trim.
Productive use of down time.
Review order specifications to perform quality checks against customer orders.
Direct/communicate to line personnel on order specifications and quality issues.
Enter data on production reports.

The primary function of this job is to rebuild boxes for use in and outside of the facility. Secondary function is to tear down and recycle unusable boxes and cardboard, and to salvage skids for use internally. Duties may include processing products through the baler to shape, form, and compress materials. The Baler Operator should possess knowledge of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance, as well as raw materials, and quality control to ensure maximization of the effective production of products.
This position operates under flexible parameters. The primary goal of this position is to achieve excellence in all facets of the position. Providing the highest quality product safely, effectively, and efficiently decreases accidents and errors and increase profits.
Essential Functions
Separate incoming box stream from Ops and WOW and determine which boxes can be rebuilt and which ones need recycled or thrown out.
Rebuild boxes at a rate that keeps Ops and WOW running based on their daily demand. Fluctuates between 50 to 75 boxes daily.
Tear down boxes that cannot be rebuilt, and either recycle or throw out.
Run baler machine to compress and bind cardboard; empty when necessary.
Maintain the work area, keep equipment and floor areas in a clean and orderly condition, and follow prescribed safety regulations
Set up, operate, and perform basic adjustments to the equipment per the individual job requirements, operating characteristics, and capabilities of the equipment
Determine salvageable skids and move to skid pick-up area.

The Recycling Technician will perform manual work necessary to support the sustainability initiative through recycling and other waste programs.

* High school diploma or GED equivalent.
* Minimum one year of manufacturing experience, preferably in a regulated and GMP environment.
* Minimum one years of forklift experience.
* RCRA and Hazardous Waste Management Certification.
* DOT Hazardous Materials Management Certificate.
* Operates compactors, balers, forklifts, drum haulers and pallet jacks to transport hazardous, non-hazardous and recyclable materials to proper disposal areas.
* Ability to adapt to rotating assignments with a positive attitude, a sense of urgency and positive results.
* Interact and communicate effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
* Good understanding of FDA Good Manufacturing Practices Regulations (GMP's) and OSHA safety requirements.
* Self-starter with strong work ethic and positive attitude.
* Strong communication (both written and oral), interpersonal, team building and organizational skills.
* Must be able to understand and complete procedure documents in accordance with SOPs and WIs.
* Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and manage time efficiently and effectively.
* Mechanical aptitude, including use basic hand tools to complete basic repairs on recycling equipment.

This position is responsible for:
* Performs activities associated with the collection, replacement, disposal/destruction and shipment of hazardous, non-hazardous and recyclable materials in accordance with federal, state, local regulations and company standard operating procedures.
* Operates compactors, balers, forklifts, drum haulers and pallet jacks to transport hazardous, non-hazardous and recyclable materials to proper disposal areas.
* Inspects and sorts materials into designated containers according to type, size, condition, color, or paper/cardboard grade.
* Monitors and maintains the conditions of all hazardous, non-hazardous and recycling storage areas and all related equipment.
* Participates in training and maintains knowledge with regard to current recycling methods, stream identification, waste mitigation, DOT regulations, and federal, state, and local regulations.
* Reports any procedural and/or process gaps to the Environmental Technician.
* Follows, promotes and enforces KDC's safety and environmental policies, practices and procedures.
* Performs all work in a manner that is consistent with the company's quality system, FDA Good Manufacturing Practices, OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations, includes maintaining clean and orderly areas at all times.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
