Position Summary
Rocketship DC is hiring for the part-time Family Recruiter contractor. The primary purpose of the Family
Recruiter contractor is to support Rocketship schools in Washington DC, fill open spots, and build robust
waitlists for prospective students. This position will require you to work closely with the school's Office
Manager, Enrollment Manager, and Principal to execute recruitment plans and meet goals set by the
team.
The ability to engage families in dialogue about Rocketship and a passion for our mission to eliminate the
achievement gap is a must. Family recruiters are our faces and voice to new families and will be
expected to execute their responsibilities with professionalism and a high degree of customer service.
Requirements:
Canvassing & Community Engagement
* Ability to conduct outreach within specified recruitment areas outlined in the recruitment plan.
* This includes, but is not limited to:
* Knocking on doors and engaging with families
* Establishing connections with local community groups, businesses, and faith-based
* organizations
* Distributing informational materials at community events and high-traffic locations
Prospective Family Outreach
* Must be able to conduct phone calls to prospective families, providing information about
* Enrollment opportunities and answering questions regarding Rocketship Public Schools.
School Tours & Enrollment Assistance:
* Ability to give engaging and informative school tours to prospective families
* Assist families with completing the MySchoolDC (MSDC) application and guide parents through
* The enrollment process
Data Entry
* Experience in accurately entering, tracking, and managing prospective family data in a customer relationship management (CRM) system to support ongoing recruitment efforts.
Feedback & Strategy Refinement
* Ability to provide on-the-ground insights and feedback to help refine and improve recruitment strategies based on community interactions and outreach effectiveness.
Availability & Mobility
* Must be available to work flexible hours between 9am-4pm and be able to travel within the designated recruitment areas as needed.
* May include some weekends
Qualifications
* A passion for Rocketship's mission to eliminate the achievement gap and a belief that all students can achieve academic success.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
* Strong PC-based computer skills, and ability to learn new computer programs quickly
* Ability to work in a team as well as follow-through independently to complete tasks as required
* Ability to maintain strict confidentiality where required and discretion when involved in sensitive conversations
* High tolerance for ambiguity, changing work priorities and deadlines, and a willingness to take on responsibilities and prioritize work on multiple projects
* Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented, organized, and resourceful
* Must have local residency and access to vehicle for reliable transportation.
Work Location
* The role will require you to work from different locations depending on your target recruitment area
$22 - $22 an hour
This is a 1099 independent contractor position.
Part-time role ranging between 15-25 hours per week at $22 per hour.
As a 1099 contractor, the individual is responsible for their own taxes, benefits, and work-related expenses.
