Q: What degree do you need to be a realtor?

You do not need a degree to become a realtor. While all states require a licensing exam to be taken, few require a college background. Earning a high school diploma or equivalent is the minimum prerequisite necessary to become a realtor. While some states require a requisite number of college-level courses in real estate principles, none of them mandate a college degree.

Usually, realtors don't need a college education. The most common degree for realtors is bachelor's degree with 60% graduates, with only 20% realtor graduates earning associate degree. Realtors who decided to graduate from college often finish University of Phoenix or Arizona State University. Some good skills to have in this position include residential real estate, open houses and purchase agreements.

Popular realtor certifications include Graduate - Realtor Institute (GRI), Certified Real Estate Inspector (CRI), or Certified Sales Professional (CSP). To improve realtor qualification and skills, we prepared some online courses to help in realtor education paths.
