Responsibilities
Managing the overall legal needs for the Easements Origination business.
Managing the overall legal needs of the communications infrastructure and leasing businesses.
Overseeing the legal work involved in the diligence workflow from the execution of the letter of intent to the hand of the final executed closing package to the Asset Manager and the Easement Archive.
Conducting negotiations over deal contracts and providing legal guidance on negotiation terms that emerge.
Ensuring that all legal documentation and approvals have been obtained in a timely fashion.
Managing the work‐flow and relationships involved in diligence and closing with all the engaged parties including: the Origination Managers, legal resources (internal and external), title, EDR/Phase I providers, surveyors, reps and brokers, site owner attorneys, finance and asset management.
Qualifications
5+ years' experience as an attorney in an organizational or law firm setting.
Admitted to practice in New York or admitted to practice in another jurisdiction and willing to register in New York as Authorized In‐House Counsel.
Superior written and oral communication skills required.
Excellent business judgment; intellectual curiosity and the ability to balance legal and business requirements.
Ability to work on multiple, complex transactions in fast paced, energetic environment.
Experience in real‐estate contracts required and finance experience preferred.
Decision Making ‐ Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures.
Interpersonal ‐ Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals.
Problem Solving ‐ Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with transaction related problems.
