Role Description
As a member of our Equestrian Center team, you are responsible for the care of the beautiful animals that our members consider part of their family. We take great pride in providing the best possible service for all of our member's, member's horses and our guests.
In this position, you are responsible for feeding, cleaning stalls/paddocks and keeping the Equestrian Center barns, tack rooms, and grounds clean. To be successful in this position, you must love working with different horses, being outside in various climates, and am a team player. Building strong relationships with our members is also extremely important to build trust, establish preferences, and give them the peace of mind that their family member is in the best care possible.
This is a full-time position with a schedule of Friday - Tuesday from 10:00am - 6:00pm. Some weekends, holidays and varying hours required.
General Responsibilities
* Greet equestrian members and guests with excellent customer service, respond to member requests in a timely manner, maintain professional relationships with the members,
* Perform daily feeding of horses, mucking stalls/paddocks, bedding down stalls, turning out and bringing in horses, cleaning water troughs and stall water.
* Checking horses for cuts or lameness (knowledge of first aid a plus), and blanketing
* Learn and execute various care and grooming routines for each individual horse, and learn member preferences for care of each horse
* Must be able to drive a small tractor, a Polaris Ranger, john Deer Gators and other related equipment
* Assist with minor maintenance and repair of Ranch equipment
* Assist with fencing repair, painting, powerwashing, blowing out of barns and paddocks
* General maintenance of facilities and arenas
Skills/Traits
* Must have at least 2 years' experience in caring for horses
* Other specializations such as maintenance, landscaping, irrigation, fencing are desired
* Ability to discern whether a horse is in distress and needing veterinary care
* Demonstrate knowledge, patience and a sense of enjoyment in caring for horses
* Flexibility to work different hours/days, including holidays and weekends
* Frequent standing with some walking and sitting at times
* Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
* Be able to reach, bend, stoop and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds (hay bales)

After his Pitbull Stella passed away, Lee was determined to fulfill his lifelong dream of creating a sanctuary, where animals could feel treasured, protected, and free. In late 2020, Lee discovered a large parcel of property which was the perfect setting to turn his vision into a reality! We are here to help people have better days and get animals adopted. Job Summary: This role is labor-intensive, focusing on maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the sanctuary grounds. Key duties include cleaning up after animals, removing and disposing of manure, sanitizing animal enclosures, and performing general farm maintenance. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, self-motivated, and passionate about contributing to the well-being of rescued animals through diligent manual work.
Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 7:00am-3:30 pm

Key Responsibilities:
Clean and remove manure from animal enclosures 4-6 hours daily.
Feeding, watering, and handling of farm animals.
Prepping feed.
Ensure animals have clean and safe enclosures throughout the day and keep areas well maintained and orderly.
Sanitize enclosures, barns, feeding areas, and other animal spaces.
Maintain the overall cleanliness of the farm, including pathways, storage areas, and shared spaces.
Maintain farm area by sweeping, picking up sticks, trimming & pulling weeds.
Dispose of waste safely and according to sanctuary protocols.
Assist with replenishing bedding, cleaning water troughs, and digging ditches.
Assist in loading and unloading animal supplies at the sanctuary.
Perform other manual labor tasks as needed to support the sanctuary's operations.
Qualifications:
Must be able to perform strenuous tasks, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Prior experience working on a farm or with animals is beneficial but not required; training will be provided.
Strong attention to detail, especially regarding cleanliness and sanitation.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Dependable and committed to completing tasks efficiently and thoroughly.
Experience:
Minimum 1 years' experience working on a farm with livestock is beneficial but not required.
Minimum Requirements:
Able to handle outdoor work and perform outside physical work in varying weather conditions.
Willing and able to clean up and care for farm animals.
Self-motivated individual who can learn to identify and complete tasks on their own or as directed.
Ability to stand, crouch, bend and be on your feet for 8 hours in various terrains and conditions.
Ability to recognize natural animal behaviors and respond with appropriate action for safety.
Observe animal daily activities, eating habits, behavior and appearance for any abnormalities and report to management.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must have dependable transportation.
