Position: Agrivoltaic Technician I (Ranch Hand) Location: RE De Soto Ranch, De Soto, GA with travel as needed throughout Southeast US Albany, GA Cordele, GA Americus, GA Overview: The Agrivoltaics Technician I (Ranch Hand) is responsible for day-to-day regenerative land management and solar grazing operations (90%); and various other non-electric maintenance needs (10%) within a utility-scale solar energy project. The Ranch Hand works closely with the Ranch Manager to develop his/her skills with an emphasis on career advancement. Note: This role requires a schedule of Sunday through Thursday OR Tuesday through Saturday. Main Responsibilities: Training and on-site skills-development can be provided to help the qualified candidate perform the following: Support broad regenerative land and livestock operations at RE De Soto Ranch with a focus on safety, animal welfare, time management, and operational success. Perform all responsibilities related to implementation of sheep grazing management plans, including participation in fencing, feeding, herding, and related activities. Assist in development of ranch facilities and infrastructure. Support implementation of flock health and animal husbandry plans, including hands-on work related to vaccinating, deworming, performing wellness evaluations, and a multitude of veterinary-related tasks. Safely operate various pieces of mechanical equipment, including but not limited to, trucks, tractors, mowers, and hand tools (training provided). Adhere to an equipment preventative maintenance schedules and procedures. Demonstrate a willingness to learn from the Ranch Manager's experience. Recognize that hours can be irregular at times. This potentially includes arriving early, staying late, and working some weekend days.     Many Fold Farm is a family owned operation. The farm is located in the beautiful Chattahoochee Hill Country, about 50-minutes west-southwest of Atlanta, GA. We are proud to be a part of a burgeoning agricultural economy within a community that seeks to preserve our rural heritage and act as a model for growth that is an antidote to urban sprawl. On our farm you'll find a small cadre of farmers, family members, interns, volunteers, and employees all attending to the daily needs of sheep, cows, chickens, hogs, and dogs happily living on pasture as nature intended. We raise our animals on a grass based system and consider ourselves “grassfarmers” who practice management-intensive grazing to ensure healthy pastures and healthy animals. Our sheep and cows convert grass into rich milk that we turn into a variety of farmstead cheeses. We also produce seasonal lamb, fresh eggs and whey-fed pork. Job Description Many Fold Farm is looking for one full time Farm Hand (Hand I) to expand our farm crew. The hand will work closely with the other members of the crew taking care of our animals and land. The work involves daily outside work with animals (sheep, cows, chickens, hogs, and dogs). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Animal husbandry (40%) - Moving Sheep, Cows, and Chickens - Perform minor veterinary care - Feeding and watering - Movement of temporary fence and other pasture equipment Egg collection, cleaning, and packaging (10%) General farm projects (repairs, construction, land maintenance, etc.) (40%) Cleaning and Minor Servicing of Equipment and Vehicles (10%) Qualifications Basic Requirements: - Valid Driver's License - Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions - Ability to work independently - The ability to lift 50+ pounds - A calm demeanor when working with animals - Able to performing all tasks in dirty outdoor conditions in all weather - Ability to effectively communicate with team members Highly Preferred Skills (but not required) : - Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle - Ability and experience operating a tractor - Basic skill with hand and power tools - A working knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance (oil changes, changing air filters etc.) Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.

Position: Agrivoltaic Technician I (Ranch Hand) Location: RE De Soto Ranch, De Soto, GA with travel as needed throughout Southeast US Albany, GA Cordele, GA Americus, GA Overview: The Agrivoltaics Technician I (Ranch Hand) is responsible for day-to-day regenerative land management and solar grazing operations (90%); and various other non-electric maintenance needs (10%) within a utility-scale solar energy project. The Ranch Hand works closely with the Ranch Manager to develop his/her skills with an emphasis on career advancement. Note: This role requires a schedule of Sunday through Thursday OR Tuesday through Saturday. Main Responsibilities: Training and on-site skills-development can be provided to help the qualified candidate perform the following: * Support broad regenerative land and livestock operations at RE De Soto Ranch with a focus on safety, animal welfare, time management, and operational success. * Perform all responsibilities related to implementation of sheep grazing management plans, including participation in fencing, feeding, herding, and related activities. * Assist in development of ranch facilities and infrastructure. * Support implementation of flock health and animal husbandry plans, including hands-on work related to vaccinating, deworming, performing wellness evaluations, and a multitude of veterinary-related tasks. * Safely operate various pieces of mechanical equipment, including but not limited to, trucks, tractors, mowers, and hand tools (training provided). * Adhere to an equipment preventative maintenance schedules and procedures. * Demonstrate a willingness to learn from the Ranch Manager's experience. * Recognize that hours can be irregular at times. This potentially includes arriving early, staying late, and working some weekend days. Reporting: Reports to RE De Soto Ranch Manager Qualifications - Education: * High School Diploma or equivalent * BA/BS or training in Ranch Management, Agriculture, Animal Science, or related fields a plus Qualifications - Background and Experience: * Valid Driver's License required * Experience in livestock agriculture preferred * Ability to work some weekend shifts. As a commercial-scale livestock enterprise, the Ranch operates 7 days per week, year-round. While all efforts are made to minimize weekend work, the Ranch Hand will be expected to work some weekend shifts (primarily feeding working dogs and performing flock wellness checks). * Willingness to travel and stay overnight off the main ranch on an occasional basis * Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, both independently and as part of a team * Ability to lift 50lbs multiple times throughout the day * Strong communication skills, both written and oral * Solar Industry experience a plus
