Drive Forklifts, operate pallet wraps, support systems such as conditioning, packaging, and treating. May assist in managing field activities such as planting, field observations, harvest activities and data collection. May participate in field activities such as rouging, detasseling, etc. Provide support in process order tracking, administrative procedures, maintenance orders and production information leveraging data systems (SAP, SMMS, WMS). Assist in keeping metrics and other information current on visual boards/data dashboards to drive teamwork and support data-driven decisions. Alert senior technicians and leadership as needed when non-conformities in product or process variance occur. Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to company's Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) standards. Comply with internal procedures and support compliance with legal requirements applicable to local area. Identify opportunities to improve performance in accordance with production area, site and company goals. Maintain compliance with site HSE protocols and Syngenta HSE policies and employee code of conduct. Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance, and report any malfunctions or repair needs promptly. Qualifications Knowledge of safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment. Basic knowledge of relevant production software (SCADA). Knowledge of routine maintenance procedures. Accurate record-keeping of production documents. Ability to lift, push, pull up to 70 pounds. High school Diploma or GED. 3+ years of relevant experience. Shift: This role is 2nd Shift, 2:30 PM-2:30 AM Hourly Rate: $22.44 an hour The Quality Control Technician is responsible for a variety of responsibilities including inspecting food product and packaging quality according to company procedure, verifying and ensuring all product code date checks are correct and documented, inspecting metal detectors, x-ray machines, and check weigher , obtaining and delivering samples for the Micro Lab, recording weights, conducting temperature checks, and monitoring the production process following USDA, GMP, Conagra standards and sanitation guidelines. You will be onsite at the Conagra facility in Council Bluffs, IA, reporting to the Quality team. Starting up to $22.44 per hour, ( Attendance Incentive $0.50 for first Shift, $0.60 for second Shift) Essential Job Functions: * Work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for position * Read, write, communicate, and comprehend verbal and written instructions in English * Work all areas in the plant and all start times You Will: * Inspect, set-up, and check metal detectors, x-rays, and check weigher * Verify carton version specifications and inform QA Supervisors of deficiencies * Obtain samples of product components from production lines to check and record weights, temperatures, and product quality * Aseptically sample product components and swab environmental sites for microbiological testing * Understand and address alarms for out-of-control weights promptly * Identify defective and nonconforming product and take appropriate corrective action * Check and record product codes and packaging to assure compliance with regulations and provide traceability * Monitor production process ensuring adherence to GMP, USDA, and sanitation guidelines and taking corrective action if standards are not being met * Monitor and complete QA sampling programs * Place nonconforming materials on hold * Complete all daily quality paperwork and reports promptly * Conduct internal audits for allergens, glass and brittle plastic, general facility conditions. You Have: * Knowledge of GMPs and food allergens * Be LOTO Certified Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or GED. Experience Required: Minimum 1 year Quality experience in a manufacturing environment preferred or other similar experience can be substituted. A Brief Summary of This Position: The Quality Assurance (QA) Tech provides the needed quality-related assistance and expertise within the assigned area of responsibility to assure the engineering specifications, process requirements, and quality objectives for material, parts and products are consistently met at a minimum cost to the company.
