Day in the Life
In this role, you will operate and maintain one of Williams' largest installations of horsepower and power distribution equipment. Operators at New Albany will gain valuable skills in the operation and maintenance of gas turbines, high-speed reciprocating engines, medium voltage generators, power distribution systems, environmental controls, and station distributed control systems.
Responsibilities/Expectations:
Supervises the development and implementation of pipeline operations, equipment maintenance and safety, including technical standards and governmental requirements
Serves as a subject matter specialist, providing technical or operational guidance to the team, including troubleshooting problems using existing precedents and procedures
Leads team projects or assignments of major scope or complexity that impact profitability
Follows Company policies and appropriate operating and maintenance procedures
Coordinates protection of community, personnel, environment and assets
Coordinates awareness of site/location/equipment specific permits and compliance
Completes assigned reports, logs and maintains accurate records
Provides mentorship to team members
Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
Required: High School Diploma/GED and minimum eight (8) years of demonstrated ability as an operations technician in the oil and gas industry
Preferred: Associates or 2-year technical degree and minimum eight (8) years of progressive operations technician experience within a natural gas processing or compression facilities
Physical and Environment Work Requirements:
Must be willing to:
Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces
Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed
Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time
Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
Use hand tools
Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:
Available to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holidays as needed
May be required to work overtime, 10-12 hour shifts and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays

Our Operations Technician II will maintain pipeline equipment at various locations and platforms. While in this vital role you will troubleshoot and perform repairs to nonfunctioning pipeline equipment while also maintaining valves, pig runs and chemical injection equipment.

What you will do:
Operates and maintains pipeline valves
Launch pigs at various platforms.
Assist measurement technician as needed.
Will be required to complete all mandatory training per Enbridge, PSM and DOT regulations.
Monitor and perform maintenance on valves and corrosion chemical pumps.
Take a lead role in permitting work to be completed on the platform by other technicians and any contractor hired to perform repairs or maintenance on the platforms.
Be responsible for maintaining communication with the gas control for daily operation and any operational issues.

Experience working with valves, pumps, and safety devices

Working Conditions:
Will work 12-hour days on a 7&7 schedule reporting to Houma, LA while being stationed offshore
Will need to be physically able to climb a lot of stairs daily and will be exposed to heat and cold during the different seasons.
Must be willing to work overtime, extended hours, respond to callouts if needed on days off and work holidays (if holidays fall on your schedule).
Works daily in an offshore environment and will frequently fly on helicopters
