ABOUT THE ROLE:
Provides anesthesia services at Crete Area Medical Center (CAMC) for scheduled cases and as needed during call coverage.

Conducts pre and post anesthesia evaluations.
Obtains informed consents for anesthesia from patients.
Oversees the development of a patient plan of care.

Selects/inserts both invasive and noninvasive monitory modalities.
Provides acute and chronic pain management services.
Orders and evaluates diagnostic tests.
Requests consultations.
Performs point-of-care testing.
Plans and initiates anesthetic techniques, including general regional, local and sedation.
Utilizes anesthetic techniques such as ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and other technologies to improve diagnosis and care delivery and improve patient safety and comfort.
Responds to emergency situations using airway management and other techniques.
Facilitates emergence and recovery from anesthesia.
Participates in professional organizations and programs and cooperates in the development of and participates in marketing programs.
Works cooperatively with Medical Staff physicians, consulting physicians, advanced practice practitioners, staff, patients and the public.
Assists in developing and implementing educational, training and in-service programs for CAMCs technicians, nurses and other staff.
Assists in developing, implementing, reviewing and initiating revisions to CAMCs quality assurance and utilization review programs in order that services of appropriate quality and in accordance with applicable licensure and reimbursement standards are provided.
Keeps proper and complete medical records, on a timely basis, of services provided for patients as required by CAMC.
Provides services in accordance with applicable conditions of participation and rules for reimbursement of medical services under Medicare and Medicaid.
Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.
YOUR EXPERIENCE INCLUDES (PROVEN PERFORMANCE IN):
Master of Science degree in Nursing with current Registered Nurse licensure and APRN-CRNA licensure from the State of Nebraska required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
Independent practice within the last three years preferred

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (Job Description Available Upon Demand)
Implements and supports the practice mission and strategic vision within respective departments.
Handles confidential information requiring professional discretion and compliance with protected health information, data integrity and security policies.
Provides routine diagnostic, therapeutic and emergency care for patients.
Maintains a patient case load and has specialized training in a clinical area.
Confers with patient, families, agencies, and pharmacies regarding patient care.
Provides patient medication management and education regarding prescription effects and side effects.
Supervises Physician Assistants within the behavioral health specialist.
Implements treatment plans that utilize Alivation's Integrated Care offerings including, but not limited to, Primary Care, On-Site Pharmacy, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, Pharmacogenetic Testing, Telehealth, Research, Remote Patient Monitoring, and others.
May be asked to be a Primary Investigator or Sub-Investigator on Research Studies.
Meticulously documents patient related administrative and clinical documentation in electronic medical records system.
Demonstrates excellent critical thinking and function under stressful or emergent situations.
Demonstrates adaptability to changing work demands in terms of priorities that necessitate personal initiative.

Responsible for administering anesthesia, monitoring patients vital signs, and overseeing patient recovery from anesthesia. Assist with anesthesia-related medical and emergency situations such as airway maintenance and pulmonary ventilation. Required to comply with rules and regulations of all applicable federal, state, and local laws as well as all KRMC policies and Medical Staff rules and regulations.
CRNAs shall maintain excellence in airway management and shall be familiar with the usage of all airway adjuncts. i.e., Glidescope, fiberoptic scope, ILMA, etc.
CRNAs shall work within their scope of delineated clinical privileges and within the State of Nebraskas scope of practice. They must also maintain all required continuing education credits, credentialing, ACLS, professional licensure, insurance payer enrollment, and completion of all required employer/hospital training (Computer Based Learning) on time.
CRNAs must also participate in pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation.
This includes preparing anesthesia equipment and supplies anticipated for the procedure.
Perform a pre-anesthetic assessment and develop a specific anesthesia plan of care for each patient and or procedure.
The patient specific anesthesia plan of care is formulated from the pre-surgical assessment and is reviewed with the attending anesthesiologist for patients with multiple confounding medical problems and or when the anesthetic is anticipated to be extra challenging or difficult.
CRNAs will execute the patient-specific plan for anesthesia care including:
Maintain the appropriate confidentiality of patient information at all times.
In accordance with departmental and regulatory compliance standards, CRNA will review appropriate documentation for informed consent and identify appropriate surgical site. Participate in surgical pause in the OR with entire surgical team in accordance with departmental and regulatory compliance standards.
Use appropriate non-invasive and invasive monitoring devices for continuous evaluation of the patients physical status are selected, applied and/or inserted.
Use anesthetics, adjuvant and accessory drugs and fluids necessary to manage the anesthetic.
Implements, monitors and adjusts patients physiologic condition as appropriate for type of anesthesia and specific patients needs.
Monitor the patients physical response to the anesthetic and initiate corrective measures.
Monitor airway, oxygenation and pulmonary status. C. Monitor cardiovascular status.
Monitor temperature, and neuromuscular function.
Access positioning and make changes as needed for patient safety.
Provide emergence and recovery from anesthesia.
Determine the need for additional laboratory tests and provide resuscitative care as necessary
Transfers the responsibility for care of the patient to other qualified providers post-operatively to assure continuity of care and patient safety.
Communicate appropriately with all individuals involved in the peri-operative and post-operative care of the patient.
Report and complete documentation are provided upon transfer of the patient from intraoperative to post-operative care provider.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Post-graduate degree in Nurse Anesthesia
Current RN licensure in the state of Nebraska
Current CRNA licensure in the state of Nebraska.
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
