Responsibilities:
Design mechanical systems including heating, cooling, heat rejection, air and water distribution, ventilation, air conditioning, building automation and controls.
Perform system design calculations, load calculations and some Energy modeling experience.
Select equipment for use in building systems.
Incorporate sustainable design methods in buildings.

Responsibilities:
Work with senior level engineers, clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams on complex engineering projects;

Qualifications:

Must have a good working knowledge of local jurisdiction standards in the Washington DC metropolitan area which includes DC, Prince George's County and Montgomery County;
Ability to prepare plans, specifications and cost estimates;
Experience as a design engineer supporting mid to large sized civil projects;
Strong communication skills with ability to communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors and design team members;

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to lead and manage our new branch office in Seattle, WA or the greater Seattle area. This role will involve recruiting and building a high-performing team of engineers, managing projects, and expanding our client base in concert with our leadership team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in water and/or wastewater engineering. The position is expected to lead to ownership opportunities within a few years, contingent upon performance.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the establishment, management, and growth of our new branch office
Help recruit, build, and manage a team of engineers to support office operations and project execution
Assist with the development and implementation of strategies for recruiting new clients and expanding business opportunities
Lead project management efforts for water and wastewater engineering projects, including sewer comprehensive plans, engineering reports, and design for water/wastewater treatment, collection, distribution, water modeling, and pump stations.
Prepare detailed engineering reports, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and problem-solving
Qualifications:
4-year degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
Washington State PE license
15+ years of experience in engineering design with a focus on water and/or wastewater systems
Proven experience in managing engineering projects and developing client relationships
Demonstrated ability to lead and oversee projects, including wastewater treatment systems, pump stations, water systems and sewer collection systems, funding, permitting, and planning reports.
A desire to play a key role in growing our Seattle office and contributing to the firm's long-term success

Compensation: $160,000 to $200,000 annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
