Work with the Applications Engineering Team to design testing campaigns with Design-of-Experiment methods, execute them with sufficient experimental rigor, compile and communicate results. Document experimental results in the form of PowerPoint presentations, technical report documents, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) entries. Education and Experience Requirements Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree (12+ years of experience), or 10+ years and a masters degree, or a 6+ and a PhD… in chemical engineering or chemistry. Experience with either sorption, filtration, ion exchange, catalysis (hetereogeneous), or HVAC systems is required. Experience acting a project lead with teams of at least 3 people is required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Technical leadership, especially with respect to product development or commissioning of large systems Ability to work under pressure, especially with respect to deadlines or while participating in field deployments Experience with running multicomponent mechanical and/or chemical systems, such as ‘rigs', reactors, automotives, technical prototypes, etc. including knowledge of safe operating methods. Understanding of adsorption processes and mass transport. Fields with similar concepts such as ion exchange, heterogeneous catalysis, etc. are acceptable. This R&D Hardware Engineer (Electrical Engineer) position is at our Wilmington, Delaware site. As an Electrical Engineer in our R&D group, you'll be part of a team that analyzes, designs, prototypes and tests new products for Agilent's Gas Chromatograph, Automated Sample Handling and Automated Sample Preparation products. Bachelor of Science degree (in engineering/science) preferred. 5 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing, assembly, and / or quality control; aviation-related experience preferred. Strong proficiency in the use of inspection aides, test equipment and techniques to determine product quality and compliance with airworthiness requirements. Capable of interpreting engineering drawings and technical data. Working knowledge of 2D/3D computer aided drafting software and tools and geometric dimensioning and tolerance concepts. Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or equivalent Quality Systems. Familiarity with Lean / Six Sigma / continuous improvement concepts Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software and other company and discipline specific software applications. Ability to build positive relationships and maintain cross-functional partnerships. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task. Ability and willingness to work extended hours, when needed. LANGUAGE SKILLS Read, write and understand the English language. Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret complex contracts, legal documents, technical documents, engineering drawings, regulations, procedures and manuals.
