Job Summary:

A skilled professional responsible for operating concrete curb machines and ensuring high-quality concrete finishing. This role involves machine maintenance, form setup, concrete pouring, and finishing various surfaces such as curbs, sidewalks, roads, and ramps. The position requires adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work in varying weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a concrete curb machine efficiently.
  • Mix, pour, and finish concrete using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Conduct light machine maintenance (e.g., greasing bearings, monitoring fluid levels).
  • Read stakes and measurements to ensure accurate concrete pouring.
  • Set up and align horizontal concrete forms.
  • Use saws to cut expansion joints or remove concrete as needed.
  • Apply different finishing techniques such as dyeing, coloring, or stamping concrete.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of worksite and company vehicles.
  • Follow all safety regulations, company policies, and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience operating a curb machine.
  • 3+ years of experience working with concrete, formwork, and finishing.
  • Familiarity with curb, gutter, drain, and ADA ramp finishing.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, tools, and processes.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including weekends, in various weather conditions.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry 5-50 lbs frequently, up to 100 lbs occasionally (with assistance).
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and lift for long periods.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, loud noises, and moving machinery.
  • Required to wear PPE, including hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and boots.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Pre-employment physical, drug test, and background check required.
  • Completion of safety training as per company requirements.
