Job Summary
The production supervisor is the person responsible for the safe, efficient, and quality-oriented processing of citrus juices, blends and oils on their respective shift. The supervisor must ensure that employees are trained and adhere to safety, quality, and food safety practices as well as standard operating procedures always. The supervisor must have ability to take fast action and make decisions to avoid production constrains. The supervisor must report any non-standard condition or down time that requires timely escalation to their immediate supervisor for resolution along with recommendations for corrective action. The supervisor will normally have about 32 employees reporting directly to them during peak season. The supervisor will report directly to the Operations Manager. The supervisor must be able to work any shift including weekends and holidays.
Primary Responsibilities
Food Safety is the responsibility of all Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees. All Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees must be aware of CCPs in their area and how to document them appropriately. All staff must report food safety and quality problems to their immediate supervisor during their shift.
Be accountable for all aspects of your shift (Safety, Employee. TPH, Recoveries).
Communication and transparency are a must and communicate all issues and down time.
Hold your employees accountable for their responsibilities during their shift.
Ensure schedules are in place by Thursday for the upcoming week.
Ensure to walk both lines at the beginning and every hour after for production deficiencies during shift and opportunities for improvements.
Report and follow through with all Hazard IDs reported by employees or yourself.
Use the provided tools to determine TPH, Recoveries improvements throughout the shift and look for opportunities for improvement.
Immediately report any non-standard personnel or production issues to Upper Management, along with recommended solutions.
Ensure you walk the path before any run that is started to validate the path is correct.

CCP #3 - Receipt of empty or full tanker, loading of tanker. This task is done by an operator, supervisors, Asst Plant Manager, Manager, Concentrate Operating or Sr. Production Clerk.
CCP #4 - Packaging Integrity.
Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production of citrus juices, oils and blends.
Train employees in the safe, quality-oriented discharge of their respective production duties.
Confer as necessary with maintenance or laboratory technicians to resolve maintenance or quality issues.
