The Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell is a 7,000-seat multi-purpose arena and a premier venue in the New England region. Home to UML Division I Men's Ice Hockey, UML Men's and Women's Basketball, PWHL Hockey, and Massachusetts Pirates Football, the facility also hosts concerts, family shows, comedy acts, and various live events. Additionally, this role supports operations for LeLacheur Park, which falls under the Tsongas Center Management team.
Responsibilities
Perform general labor, repairs, and maintenance throughout the arena as assigned.
Complete arena conversions between events.
Set up and breakdown of chairs, tables, event seating, stages, basketball courts, hockey dasher boards and glass, turf, and other equipment.
Lifting, moving, and securing heavy materials for event transitions.
Actively maintain and care for all arena equipment and property.
Storing equipment properly.
Cleaning and repairing damaged items.
Reporting any mistreatment or damage to management.
Maintain organized storage areas and ensure all equipment is accessible and in working order.
Perform snow removal tasks, including shoveling sidewalks, parking areas, entrances, and loading docks.
Other labor intensive duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be 18 years or older.
Expect to work primarily outside of normal business hours, including overnights, late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays-this is not a typical 9-to-5 job.
Physically capable of completing labor-intensive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Ability to lift at least 40 lbs. unaided and climb stairs frequently.
Steel-toe boots are required for safety.
An open mind to learning and active participation in all aspects of event changeovers.
Prior experience in event conversions, general labor, or facility maintenance is a plus.

The Office of Event Management within the Capital Planning and Maintenance Department is hiring a Student Event Crew to assist with room set-ups, general or technical assistance, and client/facility support services for events held at Fitchburg State University. Under the supervision of the event operations manager, this hands-on position is responsible for event/furniture set-up and breakdown, event equipment maintenance, systematic inventory of equipment/supplies, and occasional office coverage.
Successful candidates must be able to lift, carry, and set up tables, chairs, staging, photo backdrops, podiums, pop-up tents, and A-frames, amongst other equipment, and have the endurance to do so routinely during their shift.
The events crew member is also responsible for:
* Assisting in routine cleaning and maintaining storage closets and equipment.
* Communicating with the events management team for any assistance related to event coordination or supporting services, not on the reservation/set-up request.
* Notifying the event operations manager of any broken or missing equipment/supplies and communicating the need for replacements or repairs.
Requirements:
The events crew member is expected to work in an organized and efficient manner. Successful candidates must have superior customer service skills, the ability to work well in a team setting or independently, and effectively interact and collaborate with university personnel and community members.

Students at FPU Only - Raven Sports Network Pre-Game/Halftime Producer

The Fitzwater Center is seeking 4 students to work as Pre-Game/Halftime Producers. This position will produce the pre-game and half-time shows for one sport's livestreams. This position will be expected to cover every home game of their single team during the season. In the fall, these teams include: Field Hockey, Women's Soccer, Men's Soccer, and Football.
This position will be required to produce and edit pre-recorded content for each game; produce a run-of-show for their segments; coordinate with talent to produce cohesive and engaging show; and promote on social media..
Experience and Qualifications:
* These positions are expected to undergo training at the start of the season. They must also attend weekly production meetings on Fridays, 8 am, and participate in ongoing professional development.
* This position needs to be able to independently shoot professional quality video and audio in the small studio and in the field, edit footage, upload to the Production Truck system at least two days before game day.
* Expected that pre-came/halftime producers can drive a van or shuttle for RSN, to transport equipment and/or students/staff
