Required Qualifications:
High School/GED and five years of professional experience. Years of post-secondary education will substitute for years of experience. Driver's license needed to drive to off-campus production sessions in university owned vehicle.
Experience utilizing non-linear editing software such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premier
Demonstrated ability to take multiple projects from concept to completion while meeting stringent deadlines.
Must have experience working with a variety of audiences to ensure proper image, mission and ideals of organization are met and exceeded through all internal and external communication mediums.
Should exhibit initiative to develop and complete projects and be able to work with others internally (department/college) and external customers in business, industry and government.
Must be proficient in effective communication and possess interpersonal relations skills, independent judgment, discretion in handling confidential matters, and the ability to work under pressure of deadlines and be sensitive to OSU and the Spears image.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Journalism, Strategic Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing, or related field. One year experience shooting, editing, and producing professional videos. Prior experience using video cameras, tripod, microphones and lights; understanding of fundamentals of lighting and audio.

The Role Itself

Reporting to the KRMG News Director, the News Producer develops, produces, writes, voices, and delivers top local, state, and national news stories weekday mornings on the KRMG Morning News with Dan Potter. The producer shift is 3:30am - 11:30am M-F. The producer is responsible for working closely with the host (Dan Potter) to write factual, compelling, quality news stories with urgency and relatability for radio, as well as digital and social channels. You will produce daily local, state, and national news content that contributes to our success and adheres to our station research. You will develop trusted sources regularly used for research and story development. The producer reacts and delivers breaking news, red alert traffic, and severe weather alerts on the radio, and digital and social platforms. The producer reports breaking news, top local, top state, and top national stories. The producer also prepares to anchor newscasts as needed, as well as filling in as a backup for our morning traffic anchor and/or morning board op/producer positions.

Minimum Qualifications
* Ability to prioritize and deliver results against a work plan in a fast-paced environment, giving attention to detail even under high-pressure situations
* Must be a team player with a positive "Whatever it Takes" attitude
* Proactive, self-motivated player with the ability to work with minimal supervision
* Proven storytelling skills
* Knowledge of editing with Adobe Audition
* Experience with NewsBoss and WideOrbit
* Solid news judgment with the ability to spot stories that impact listeners
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in journalism, broadcast journalism, or communications preferred, or a minimum of three to five years of professional radio experience.
