MRI Tech PRN - (2500031P) Description A career as a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologist is exciting for those who are passionate about health care, patient comfort and saving lives. As a technologist, you are asked to operate MRI scanners and to ensure that the procedure produces quality images and information for the health care professional to make an accurate diagnosis. You have the chance to work and interact directly with patients as you ensure that they are comfortable and calm. Utilize your medical knowledge by interviewing patients, explaining the procedure and placing the patient in the appropriate spot on the table. Technologists are also organized, detail-oriented people who are familiar with the anatomical area that is being scanned and the patient's history. The primary purpose of this position is to acquire artifact free polysomnographic recordings that can be interpreted by a physician. This technologist also will educate patients on possible disorders and treatments. This technologist will compile a report after each study is completed that summarizes the sequence of events during the sleep study. The technologist will intervene during the recording if needed, to correct technical problems or if the patient is in need.
