About the Role: Founding Middle School Science Teacher The Science Teacher will play a critical role in shaping a rigorous, engaging, and supportive learning environment where all students develop a strong foundation in scientific concepts and inquiry. As a founding teacher at Cedar Rapids Prep, you will have the opportunity to build a dynamic and hands-on science program that fosters curiosity, analytical thinking, and a deep understanding of the biological world. Your role will involve delivering high-quality instruction, designing and implementing lab experiences, collaborating with colleagues to align curriculum and instructional practices, leveraging student data for continuous improvement, and helping students develop the scientific literacy essential for future careers and academic pursuits. Following hiring, the new team member is required to complete training in the Mathnasium Method™. This is a part-time role with flexible hours.Job Responsibilities Provide exceptional instruction/ tutoring services to students Participate in positive interactions with parents and establish a high level of confidence and program value Become proficient with digital educational materials & processes Teach in-center, online, and/or via hybrid delivery using the Mathnasium Method™, terminology, and teaching practices which include individualized instruction in a group setting Assess students' progress throughout instructional sessions, and work collaboratively with team members to deliver the best possible experience for students Evaluate, grade, and correct student work and homework Support the maintenance of a clean & professional learning environment Assist with non-teaching/ instructional tasks as needed Qualifications A passion for math and working with students Excellent interpersonal skills Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra II Ability to balance various ongoing tasks Willingness to learn and be trained Benefits/Perks Growth Opportunities Great Culture Flexible Hours Compensation: $9.00 - $11.00 per hour Mathnasium locations are independently owned and operated by franchisees of Mathnasium Center Licensing, LLC ("Mathnasium").
