Overview Purpose and Essential Duties The Lead Electrical Engineer (LEE) III is a technical expert who supports Integrated Solutions (IS) project delivery or technical design efforts. The purpose of an LEE is to provide technical authority and direction for the development of electrical engineering designs, studies, and solutions. The role also provides technical authority to the discipline for the creation, maintenance, and approval of engineering standards, training, and mentoring. An LEE has a very high level of experience and expertise in the field of electrical design and implementation Responsibilities Specific responsibilities include: Pre-Engineering Provides technical assistance to pre-engineering teams during data collection surveys. Assists with IS project scope development and guaranteed savings review. Conducts QA/QC of pre-engineering scope development within a committee of technical experts. Design and Pre-Construction Leads site surveys to determine existing facility conditions and the requirements to complete the scope of work. Develops conceptual design strategies to execute the project scope of work. Develops and administers equipment Requests For Proposals (RFPs) for early equipment procurement. Oversees and directs the electrical engineering of projects in accordance with engineering best practices, company standards, and in compliance with any and all applicable codes. Assists the project engineering team with review of critical equipment and system submittals for conformation to design documents. Conducts QA/QC of electrical design documents. Provides input on the time and resource requirements to complete assigned tasks to the project engineering team. Construction Assists the project engineering team with site visits to review progress, quality of installation, and identify deficiencies. Troubleshoots electrical equipment/system installation and setup problems. Provides electrical technical support to the implementation team to complete the project requirements. Assists in the optimization of complex electrical upgrades. Other Identifies gaps in project execution and creates standards/processes to solve the issues. Supports or develops new tools supporting project execution. Problem solves system integration and operation of electrical systems. Upholds and promotes the Bernhard brand by guaranteeing excellence in the execution of work and ensuring a positive client experience. Performs the assigned duties with minimal supervision, while working in a team problem-solving environment. Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to other employees internal and external to the Integrated Solutions Engineering organization. Completes technical reports or related documents as required. Develops training material for internal and external engineering teams. Provides post-construction on-site operations and maintenance training for staff. Troubleshoots post-construction operational procedures to identify savings shortfalls and solutions. Informs significant business decisions while successfully executing the project. Provides the focal point and technical leadership for all electrical engineers and designers within the Integrated Solutions Engineering organization. Any other duties as assigned by company leadership. This position is Full-Time, Exempt, and reports to the Vice President of IS Design. Qualifications Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications 15+ years of experience in engineering design. Professional Electrical Engineering (PE) license. Possesses expert technical knowledge of the subject matter. Effective verbal and written communication skills and Customer/Client orientation. Leadership skills with the ability to develop and mentor others. Ability to problem solve and analyze complex systems. Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects with competing deadlines. Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary. Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications Central Energy Plant (CEP), Electrical Infrastructure, Healthcare, or Higher Education project experience. Medium voltage protection and power distribution system project experience. Paralleled generator systems at medium voltage and below project experience. Proficient in AutoCAD and REVIT. Travel Requirements 50% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location. Physical/Work Environment Requirements The work environment will be a combination of an office environment and site survey environment. Site surveys will include exposure to external weather, loud noises, and poorly accessible spaces. Ability to survey confined spaces within a facility to gather necessary information on building equipment. The use of ladders to survey equipment above ceiling is required periodically. Light to heavy work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects from 20-100 pounds. Pay Range USD $104,130.00 - USD $139,050.00 /Yr. Maintaining water quality is Olsson's number one concern, and we are able to respond to a broad set of client demands in a timely and cost-effective manner. As a Senior Engineer on the Water/Wastewater team, you'll provide various engineering and project management duties related to evaluating, designing, and constructing projects. You may assist with developing the project scope and schedule, project documentation, and reviewing shop drawings. Types of wastewater projects typically include piping extensions and rehabilitation, new pump stations and rehabilitation, treatment plant rehabilitation for various types of treatment processes, and new treatment plant projects. Travel may be needed to job sites for observation in all types of terrain and weather conditions, as well as project sites in various stages of construction.
