PRESCHOOL TEACHER:

General Statement of Duties: Plans, implements and directs the educational and early learning experiences of preschools in a classroom setting using the Creative Curriculum. Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree in child development, early childhood education, or equivalent course work and proof of enrollment in program leading to a bachelor's degree in the field, OR Bachelors or advanced degree in early childhood education or a degree in a related field (such as special needs), with preschool teaching experience. A degree in related field means a college degree (Bachelor degree or higher) with a program of study which included 6 or more courses in early childhood education and/or child development (with not less than the 18 credit hours). Candidate must have completed a childcare administration class or may be granted a waiver to complete one within a year of hire.

The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) Teacher is responsible for all aspects of planning, assessing and instructing 4-year olds, based on needs of each child, and the requirements of the GSRP grant. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY/WORK
The Assistant Teacher supports the daily operations of a classroom in Oakland Family Services' Children's Learning Center (CLC).
