The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask. Duties/Responsibilities: Stripping all dirty linens, towels and terry out of guest rooms. Cleans rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom, and carpet shampoo machine. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes the floor. Wash the walls and ceiling, move furniture, and turn mattress. Empty trash cans and dispose of trash. Collect soiled linen for laundering. Received linen supplies from floor shoots. Maintains housekeeping carts. Perform duties of room attendant when necessary. Sort linen, stock room attendant closets. Refill the par stock of guest amenities and supplies on each floor pantry. Help the room attendants with the heavy lifting when super cleaning / spring cleaning of rooms. Clean all public areas in the prescribed manner while following department standard operating procedures. Remove soiled linen and trash from the poolside and other service areas and take them to appropriate locations in the prescribed manner. Assist room attendants with placing boards, roll-ways beds, extra beds, etc. Report missing/found articles, damage, or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisors. Perform light cleaning and heavy cleaning including but not limited to vacuuming, sweeping, floor cleaning, cleaning light fixtures, washing and drying towels and rags, emptying trash cans and ashtrays. Provide courteous guest service. Interact and communicate with guests and fellow employees in a courteous and professional manner. Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager. Report on working in the required uniform and adherence with the Dress Code Policy. Qualifications Education/Experience: Six months' housekeeping experience or training preferred. Prior housekeeping/ hotel experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalent a plus. Knowledge of cleaning products and equipment Shampoo and floor cleaning a plus. Skills/Abilities: Possess good verbal, written, and listening skills. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Required to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; to write simple correspondence. Self-directed, energetic, and efficient. Must be at least 18 years of age. Able to pass a background check. Physical Requirements: Able to stand and walk on their feet for 95% of the shift. Able to reach, bend, twist, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks as required. Must be able to climb stairs with vacuum cleaner. Able to push and pull carts and other equipment. Regularly lifts 25 pounds and occasionally lifts 50 pounds. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
