Job description- Residential Apartment Cleaner
Rent.Live provides housing nationally for students attending local colleges. We seek a full-time cleaner to help maintain our residential apartment units.
What is this job all about? We lease apartment units from apartment communities located in close proximity to each other. The units are fully furnished and include utilities. Our students rent a bed in the unit and are on individual leases. Our leased apartment units are two and three-bedroom in size. As a cleaner, you will also inspect the units using our inspection app and then clean and help maintain the units for the company and the students. You are expected to spend two hours on average cleaning each unit and be responsible for cleaning three units each day, Monday through Friday. Still interested? More info below.
Duties:
Our apartments are two and three-bedroom units with up to six students living in each unit. You would be responsible for cleaning three units daily, roughly two hours per unit.
Perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
Clean and sanitize bathrooms.
Empty trash cans, dispose of waste properly, and replace trash bags using the occupant's trash bags.
Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
Clean and maintain carpets using appropriate cleaning methods and special equipment.
Clean and ready the apartments for new move-ins, tenant transfers, and unit closeouts.
Assist the property manager with all leasing activity needs. This includes readying units that are backfilled, room checks before move-in day, and new move-ins on move-in day.
Assist the property manager with maintenance follow-ups and unit-related issues.
Skills:

Qualifications:

Essential Functions:

Reports directly to the building Principal concerning needs of the individual building.
Accountable to the Director of Facilities relative to the coordination of work between other buildings, summer work schedules, and continuity within the corporation.
Responsible for all disciplinary measures concerning custodians within the building, with guidance from the building Principal and the Director of Facilities.
Maintain inventory of all supplies and prepare material and equipment orders.
Prepare a summer work schedule at the end of the regular school year to ensure completion of work before school starts in the fall.
Be self-directed and active in the building during the workday without direction from the Principal and Director of Facilities.
Demonstrates a propensity for leadership and the ability to be self-motivated.
Assume pride and accept responsibility for the condition of the building.
Schedule all overtime work in the building. If no other employee is willing to work overtime for an approved school function, it becomes the responsibility of the Head Custodian to work that event.
Willing to fill in if necessary for absent staff members, i.e. if third shift custodian does not report to work, Head Custodian must report at an appropriate hour to unlock the building for the various commodities that are delivered each morning.
Must have thorough understanding of the chemicals that are used within the building and read and understand the accompanying Safety Data Sheets.
Willing to receive calls and report for emergencies at any hour.
Maintain an exemplary attendance record.
Shall be responsible for security of building, i.e. lock-up, turning off lights, computers.
Be aware of and practice universal precautions.
Be responsible for condition of grounds, i.e. mowing, weeding, and picking up debris.
Understand and utilize the facilities computer software.
Participate in professional development, as assigned.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
