The Facilities Management department supports DC Central Kitchen in its mission to use food as a tool to strengthen bodies, empower minds, and build communities by ensuring the functionality, safety, comfort, and efficiency of its new state-of-the-art home, the Michael R. Klein Center for Jobs and Justice, which occupies 36,000 square feet. This team is responsible for the maintenance and management of the physical environment, including production and training kitchens, offices, meeting, and event spaces; and the effective functioning of the infrastructure that supports the building, including Information Technology (IT) systems, Audio/Visual (A/V) systems, and Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) systems. The efforts of this department enable a productive, supportive, and connected workplace.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Director, Facilities Management and working very closely with the Facilities Coordinator, the Facilities Porter will ensure that the Klein Center remain organized and sanitized. The Facilities staff supports overall operations by ensuring that all relevant areas are clean, organized, and stored. In addition to consistent maintenance and sanitation of the Klein Center, this role is also responsible for maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and ensuring that supplies are ordered in time by communicating these needs to the Facilities Coordinator or Facilities Management Director. The Facilities Porter ensures the completion of daily tasks that are listed on opening and closing checklists, ensuring that daily upkeep and sanitation and preventative maintenance are monitored and maintained.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effectively represent the mission of DC Central Kitchen to all internal and external customers, including staff, students, customers, visitors, volunteers, and other members of the community.
Complete cleaning tasks on the opening and closing checklists daily.
Perform frequent cleaning of the following areas throughout the day: bathrooms, lunchroom, dry storage room, refrigerators, freezers, shelving, floors, and walls.
Clean large equipment like hood vents, food transport equipment, flatbeds, speed racks, refer & freezer doors & floors.
Perform daily cleaning of all kitchen shelving and kitchen racks.
Perform daily cleaning of microwave and weekly cleaning of staff refrigerator.
Perform general office cleaning.
Remove trash from food prep areas several times during each shift.
Take trash to outdoor dumpster/compacter as needed.
Assist drivers in loading and unloading & storing large food donations as well as equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current ServSafe Certification and must maintain certification during employment.
Graduate of CJT Program is preferred
Prior experience in high volume food production, restaurants, or institutional food service

Here at OVG, we are looking for motivated individuals who would like part-time employment to work with us as warehouse support for events at CFG Bank Arena.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $16, plus tips.

Responsibilities
Responsible for assisting with product purchasing/ordering, receiving and distribution control for the venue.
Maintain sanitation and organizational systems of all warehouse storage areas.
Fulfills all event expectations including but not limited to requisitioning during events, post-event break down, warehouse returns, equipment storage, sanitation and maintenance.
Oversee and ensure that appropriate stocking levels are met for each event; rotate and maintain integrity of product.
Ensure proper transfer process of product between locations, including follow-up documentation.
Assists in performing routine maintenance; responsible for concession and utility equipment cleaning and maintenance: portable equipment, burden carriers, carts, floors, refrigeration, and lighting. Ensure manifested equipment is in location.
Conduct walk through of the commissary, warehouse and storage areas after the completion of the day to ensure all areas are clean.

Performing the duties of this position involves extensive and continuous standing and walking. Routine activities require the employee to be able to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds. THE ROLE
The Porter position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen, washing all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, and assisting in the preparation and breakdown of game day buffets.
