ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Plumbing Installation and Repair: Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fittings, fixtures, and other plumbing components. Address issues related to water supply, drainage systems, and waste disposal. O Troubleshoot and diagnose plumbing problems and implement effective solutions.
2. Maintenance and Inspections: Perform regular inspections of plumbing systems to identify and address potential issues before they escalate. Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and reliability of plumbing systems.
3. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency plumbing situations, such as leaks, blockages, and system failures. Provide quick and efficient solutions to minimize disruption to hotel operations and guest experience.
4. Guest and Staff Interaction: Interact with guests and staff professionally and courteously, addressing plumbing-related concerns and providing timely resolutions. Communicate effectively with hotel management regarding the status of repairs and maintenance activities.
5. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of plumbing repairs, maintenance activities, and inventory of plumbing supplies. Prepare detailed reports on plumbing issues, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks.
6. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all plumbing work complies with local building codes and regulations. Follow safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment.
7. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other maintenance staff and departments to support overall hotel operations. Assist in training and mentoring junior staff or apprentices as needed.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

Maintaining, repairing and replacing water, steam, gas and drain piping within the facility to ensure proper operation and function of piping systems. The plumber must be familiar with piping materials, sizes, measurements and posse's skills in pipe threading and sweating copper. Knowledge of installing PVC, no-hub, threaded, and copper pipe is necessary. The work will involve lifting and carrying materials or equipment up to 80 pounds, working in ceilings, and from ladders or other uneven surfaces. He or she will also need to work in confined spaces, awkward positions, wet, unpleasant and unsanitary conditions as required.
Maintaining fire standpipe, sprinkler systems and fire extinguishers throughout the facility to ensure proper working condition and fire protection in compliance with local regulatory codes. Lifting and carrying of fire extinguisher weighing up to 50 lbs. is required.
Maintaining grease traps and sewage ejector pits to prevent waste line blockages. The plumber will be required to keep this equipment clean and maintained on a routine basis. Chemical treatment is required to maintain these systems.
