SPECIFIC DUTIES:
This working position is responsible for the installation and repair of plumbing and associated systems, LP Gas supply, Waste Collection and Potable Water necessary to operate a major institution. This position will also provide on the job training to those inmates he/she supervises in plumbing and associated systems.
The incumbent in this position is responsible for, but not limited to:
* Following approved methods and procedures, provisions of all required local, state or federal codes, tool, safety and established security procedures.
* Reading Blueprints, Performing repairs and preventive maintenance as directed by the Maintenance Superintendent.
* Preparing reports of progress and performance for assigned inmates for the use by the inmate's classifications team in measuring and determining the rehabilitative progress of the assigned inmate and provides personal counseling when necessary for inmates consistent with motivational needs and the development of a positive approach to rehabilitation efforts.
* Maintaining custody and control of inmates assigned under the supervision of the position in accordance with accountability requirements for inmates outlined in the operational procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* High school diploma or its equivalent and at least one (1) year of experience in the plumbing trade OR four or more years of experience in the plumbing trade (College or vocational/technical training in the above listed trade can substitute for the required experience).
* A valid Driver's license.

The Maintenance Plumber assembles, installs and repairs pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes, studies building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required, and sequence of installations. Essential Job Functions:
Inspects structures to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe and locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors.
Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings, using hand tools and power tools, cuts and threads pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine, bends pipe to required angle by use of pipe-bending machine, or by placing pipe over block and bending it by hand.
Assembles and installs valves, pipefittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass and lead, and nonmetals, such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic.
Joins pipe by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints, fills pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking, installs and repairs plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners.
Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains, and may weld holding fixtures to steel structural members.
Daily; weekly and monthly maintenance of the pools and for completing the pool log and checklists.
Checks the water Chemistry Levels and insuring they remain at proper levels
Troubleshoots mechanical issues and performing minor repairs.
Inspects the pools for Health Department Compliance of Operational and Safety concerns.
Changing chlorine tanks as required.
Ensures that the water is clean and ready for use by removing debris.
Cleans the pools using such aids as underwater vacuum cleaner, hose, brush, detergent, acid solution, and sander.
Inspects and replace loose or damaged tile.
Cleaning and repairing filter systems.
Observations:
Checks equipment and chemical inventories, and any restocking needs
Provides necessary information regarding renovation or annual maintenance needs.

Work with contractors to dig trenches/install pipes and piping fixtures for water or sewage systems as needed.
Mount hangers and brackets on walls to provide support for pipes as needed.
Ensure compliance with building codes and set safety standards.
Be able to measure, cut, and assemble pipes to required angles using measurement tools.
Inspect plumbing systems to identify issues and initiate repairs.
Liaise with contractors, pipefitters, and other construction workers to ensure an effective plumbing system.
Work with contractors on the fire sprinkler system as needed to check their work.
Performs plumbing maintenance and repair to all center plumbing and irrigation sprinkler systems.
Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of parts and tools.
Ability to work with and evaluate outside service contractors.

JOB SUMMARY:
Lay out, assemble, install, maintain, repair and/or replacement of piping, fixtures, carriers, and equipment associated with water distribution, sanitary, and vent systems within luxurious homes and commercial structures throughout the South Florida tri-county area. Knowledge of drainage and other plumbing systems for compliance with local codes and regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Review construction documents to include, but not limited to, engineered drawings, submittals, and project specifications.
* Respond to emergency maintenance/service requests.
* Communication and coordination with clients.
* Use of hand and/or power tools associated to this line of work.
* Diagnose, service, maintain & install above and underground sanitary, storm and water piping systems.
* Knowledge of steam and/or hot water heating systems is a plus.
* Installation of plumbing fixtures and associated fixture carriers.
* Complete and submit all paperwork daily as required and associated to Service operations.
* Daily time keeping.
* Follow health and safety standards.
* Adhere to all Safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Comprehension and the ability to perform diagnostic evaluations of all systems related to the plumbing industry to include, but not limited to, domestic hot, hot water return and cold water, sanitary, and associated vent systems.
* Means and ability to assemble pipe sections to include, but not limited to, soldering, brazing, pro-press, threaded and solvent weld.
* Sales and the ability to communicate to clients the necessity of proposed work required.
* Must have a current driver's license.
* Clean driving history a must.
* Ability to lift to 50lbs.
* Ability to perform multiple tasks safely and with quality.
* Able to identify safety risks and the ability to communicate said risks with William R. Nash Safety department/personnel.
* Ability to work inside and outside.
* Must have a comprehensive understanding construction terms and procedures.
* Must possess all hand tools required as described in WRN's tool list.
* Able to work at various heights above floor with ladder, scaffold, and manlift when required.
* Able to work in excavated trenches.
* Available to work beyond normal business hours and/or weekends as required.
* Check in with building personnel before performing work.
* Possess Trust, Team, Grit, and Growth qualities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* For consideration, candidates must have a minimum 7 years of plumbing service experience along with having an aptitude of math and keen to details.
* Ability to utilize mobile electronic devices for use of Word, Excel, and Service based programs.
* Must possess above average communication skills.
* A Journeyman's license in the respected trade is a plus.
