Duties may include, but are not limited to:

● Maintain the license(s) required by the state of Maine for Master Plumber's.
● Remain in compliance with any and all applicable state and local statutes and
ordinances.
● Accountable for all services provided by a Journeyman or Apprentice Plumber under
your supervision.
● Meet with regulatory board members and / or licensing authorities as required Locate and
mark pipes and connection positions and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors
using ruler, spirit level, and plumb bob
● Use hand and power tools to cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and
pipe fittings
● Use pipe cutters, cutting torch and pipe-threading machine to cut and thread pipes
● Use pipe bending machine to bend pipe to required angles
● Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes made from metals or non-metals
● Join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints
● Fill pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to ensure system is not
leaking
● Repair and maintain plumbing by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and opening
clogged drains
● May perform welding
● Carry out regular maintenance of plumbing systems at commercial and residential sites
● Perform installation of plumbing systems at new properties
● Inspect previously installed plumbing systems at commercial and residential sites
● Perform any necessary repairs to previously installed systems
● Answer calls for plumbing issues from general contractors
● Keep up to date with current safety regulations and requirements for the various
plumbing systems a company installs and maintains and perform routine inspections
Education, Licensing and Certification
Journeyman Plumber Requirements:
● State Approved Journeyman Plumbing License
● High school diploma or equivalent
● Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship or another type of formal plumbing training
● Valid driver's license
● Must have or be able to obtain OSHA 10 hour or 30 hour certification
● Ability to use a wide variety of plumbing tools and techniques
● Willingness to respond to emergency plumbing situations at odd hours
Skills & Qualities
High sense of urgency and focus on customer service
Must have good communication, training and presentation skills
Must approach business and compliance issues with enthusiasm, recognizing the potential for
growth
Assists in making decisions on all normal and complex repairs
Ability to lift and carry 70 lbs

Job Responsibilities * Lay-out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain mechanical piping systems which include industrial processing systems, and high pressure piping systems according to the working drawings. * Cut and bevel pipe using oxy-fuel cutting torches, mechanical beveller's or a combination of power and hand tools
* Must be proficient in making rolling offsets, fish mouths, laterals and consistently fabricating pipe to the correct dimension.
* Measure, fabricate, and fit up butt-weld, socket weld, "V" grove pipe, valves, hangers, and threaded piping systems.
* Operate threading machine equipment.
* Ability to use rigging to move and get pipe in place.
Qualifications/Requirements
* Minimum of three years of experience fitting a variety of pipe in an industrial environment.
* Proficient in the use of cutting torches, plasma arc, cutting machines and rigid power threading equipment.
* Able to read isometric drawings of piping systems and draw ISO's of field run piping and fabricate from these drawings.
* Prior rigging experience is a plus.
* NCCER certification is a plus.
* State licensing may be required depending upon state.
