Essential Functions

Installs or repairs drinking fountains inside and outside school buildings; repairs and replaces valves; opens frozen water lines during winter months; opens and cleans clogged drains, including roof drains, rain conductors and yard drains; installs, repairs and/or replaces back flow preventers and water mains; repairs leaking or broken pipes; repairs flush lines to toilets; repairs and replaces hot and cold water spigots; repairs or removes sump pumps.
Oversees the work of trainees in the trade.
Adheres to established safety procedures and the City of Philadelphia plumbing code.
May estimate, order and transport necessary materials to complete work order(s) at assigned location.
