We are seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Designer with at least 3 years of experience to support the growth and expansion of our business. The position would start as a 'Mechanical Engineer/Designer' and potentially progress over time to 'Project Manager' or 'Project Engineer.' Responsibilities * Design HVAC and Plumbing systems, including load calculations, air and piping distribution and sizing, and equipment selection. * Prepare design layouts and schematics for commercial and industrial mechanical systems based on specific design objectives. * Perform field work for design investigation and construction observation. * Review designs and correspond with clients, colleagues, owners, and contractors. * Collaborate with all disciplines to achieve completed coordinated designs and review the work of others. * Conduct on-site investigations to confirm existing conditions. * Develop familiarity with current mechanical codes and standards. * Form relationships with personnel from other disciplines and manufacturing sales representatives. * Prepare general and mechanical specifications. Work Environment The Columbus team consists of 1 Electrical P.E., 3 Mechanical P.E.s, and 1 part time contractor, totaling 5 people. The office operates in an open and collaborative space where ideas are freely exchanged.
