Responsibilities The Spirit Wings & Spirit Direct Pilot Pathway programs allows pilots enrolled at one of our select flight school or university program partnerships a direct pathway to the flight deck as a First Officer with Spirit Airlines. While in the program cadets will receive:
* Mentorship, guidance and training opportunities from members of the Flight Operations team throughout a student/instructor's time in the program.

Qualifications

University Requirements:
* Completion of sophomore year in an accredited aviation degree program.

Selected candidates will need to complete all program requirements and meet the FAA requirements for an Unrestricted ATP or Restricted ATP (if in the university program) and receive a final program review. All cadets will be required to attend ATP/ CTP and a Spirit Specific A320 Jet Transition course prior to being assigned a new hire class date. Once a new hire class date is available, cadets will go through pre-employment testing and background checks before being assigned a Spirit Airlines new hire pilot class date.

Nature of Work
Under administrative direction, the purpose of the position is to perform flight operations within the Aviation Division of the Sheriff's Office Department of Fire Rescue and Emergency Services. Employees in this classification are certified public safety employees. Position operates as the pilot in command for multi engine helicopters in response to a variety of emergency and fire rescue missions. Position provides assistance with on-the-scene emergency medical care. Work involves an element of personal danger and employees must be able to act without direct supervision, utilizing initiative, and discretion in response to emergency circumstances. Performs related work as directed.
Essential Functions/Physical Requirements

Performs aerial firefighting operations.
Conducts Rescue Hoist operations.
Ensures full and proper completion of all flight/maintenance logs, load manifest forms, Record of Airman Flight and Duty Time Sheets, Risk Assessments, and the securing of the aircraft at the completion of the flight.
Ensures proper briefing of passengers per 14 CFR 135.117. Passenger briefings
Performs all pre-flight, in-flight and post flight checks in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
Conducts detailed flight plans with little notice; ensures proper fueling and operations readiness of aircraft at all times.
Performs aircraft cleaning; keeps the aircraft exterior clean and assists in keeping the base of operations presentable. Cockpit cleanliness and organization are the sole responsibility of the pilot. Will facilitate washes and rinse of aircraft when required as per pilot maintenance procedures described here in BSO General Operations Manual.
Performs station duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot.
Completes all training and qualification events required to maintain currency as dictated in 14 CFR Part 135.
Conduct training flights to enhance air operations, safety, efficiency, and coordination with other units, when assigned performs flight instructor training and safety duties.
Maintains current knowledge of local geography and roadway networks.
Ensures that a shift change briefing is conducted with the pilot going off duty, with medical personnel, and with the communications center. These briefings will include, but are not limited to; aircraft status, interrupted flights, hazards map updates, forecast and current weather, medical interior issues, pending missions (PR's, training, medical), ride along, sterile cockpit, and any other pertinent information as appropriate.
Completes all flight assignments in a safe and professional manner. The Pilot in Command is responsible for assuring that all crewmembers assigned to their aircraft make safety the number one priority in all activities.
Actively participates in the continuous improvement phase of BSOFRs Safety Management System (SMS).
Submits ‘Hazard/Incident Report' to Chief Pilot and Director of Operations. Report submission criteria include but are not limited to, diverting for weather, bird strikes, mechanical discrepancies, CRM conflicts, and all events regarding safety of flight.
Maintains positive customer relations.
Performs basic life support first aid emergencies. Assists paramedics in patient care as directed.
Responsible for maintaining their qualifications in keeping with the requirements outlined in the FARs, the BSOFR Training Manual, and this General Operations Manual for their assigned position. To include but not limited to night currency IAW FAR 135.247
Performs related duties as directed, Aviation Life Support Equipment Officer, Safety Officer, Instructor Pilot, Check Airman, Chief Pilot, Director of Operations.
Tasks involve the intermittent performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds). May require occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of heavier objects. Most tasks are performed in flight where proper provisions are in place in terms of employee security and protection. Due to the nature of aerial operations, tasks include potential for intermittent exposure to disagreeable elements consistent with inclement weather, high wind speeds, and equipment stress. Due to rotorcraft weight limitations, employee must not exceed a 220 pound weight limit with flight suit and boots. Some tasks include working around moving parts, light to moderate weight motor equipment, and materials handling where physical risks are predictable and/or controllable by observance of standard safety precautions.

Ensures the Safe Operation of Flight:
* Ensures crewing and trip assignments are compliant with company and regulatory requirements.
* Completes flight planning, performance and weight and balance tasks for each assignment, as required.
* Utilizes Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead required briefings and mitigate operational risks.
* Complies with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates with company personnel as required. Acts as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as defined by company policy.
* Completes all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including the maintenance status of the aircraft, to ensure the aircraft is mission capable. Records all aircraft discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
* Ensures all aircraft ground servicing items (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) are monitored and accomplished in accordance with SOPs.
* Completes passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulation. Delivers the highest level of customer service and meet any special needs of passengers (e.g., physically challenged).
* Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to communicate with crew and support personnel clearly and in a timely manner during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
Delivers an Exceptional Service Experience:
* Provides quality service to owners and passengers while identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience. Regularly investigates and resolves service deviations.
* Collaborates with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to provide consistent service experience to owners and passengers. Resolves conflict and challenges in an acceptable manner.
Maintains Proficiency and Compliance:
* Maintains regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience.
* Complies with company SMS program and reports safety or non-compliance concerns through the appropriate channels.

As a Flight Test Pilot, you will provide technical assistance to management's development, planning, and execution of the agency's Aviation and Marine Test and Evaluation (T&E) Program.

* Completed a long flight test course (flight tests schools include but are not limited to U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School (USAFTPS) U.S. Naval Test Pilot School (USNTPS), Empire Test Pilot School (ETPS) or National TPS (pilot long course)). Or have least 1 year of experience of either flight-testing aircraft for engineering approval (civilian or military) or analyzing aircraft performance data.
* An FAA Medical Certificate Class I or II. Either one must be within 12 calendar months of the date of issuance. Your FAA Medical certificate must be valid through the closing date of this announcement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. Military flight medicals cannot be used.
* Must obtain/ maintain qualification/certification/training currency in designated fixed and rotary wing aircraft for test pilot duties

* Conducting test flights in accordance with, aircraft flight/performance manual, established test plans, FAA Federal air regulations, policies and procedures governing how aircraft are certified, what requirements the crew must have, including pilots or others, where the aircraft can be flown, and basic flight operations
* Reviewing responses to test related documentation, annual reports, and periodic metrics to ensure accuracy and compliance to safety requirements, federal air regulations, etc
* Developing, executing, and reviewing test cards, test readiness briefings, safety readiness briefs, test out-briefs and coordinate all activities supporting test execution
* Performing duties beyond the functional check flight duties, engaging in more complex and experimental testing of aircraft systems, performance and designing under various conditions.

Physical Demands: This position requires periods of long-term standing, bending and crouching working in and around aircraft and boats. Roles and Responsibilities:
The RQ-4 Pilot is responsible for the safe operation of the RQ-4 and its associated systems through all phases of ground and flight operations, including normal, abnormal, and emergency situations with strict adherence to DCMA regulations and company policy. Responsibilities include:
Conduct pre-flight planning and perform post-flight ground debrief with maintenance, test personnel, and other aircrew members.

Document mission data in flight logs.
Locate, understand, interpret, and adhere to applicable DOD, FAA, DCMA, and other organizational regulations and guidance.

Basic Qualifications:

Military aviation experience (Air Force, Army, Navy, or equivalent) is highly desirable, particularly in ISR operations, flight training, and operational management.
Operational Expertise:
Extensive knowledge of aviation regulations (FAA, DCMA, and military).
In-depth experience with Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations, including flight planning, crew scheduling, and operational oversight.
Familiarity with airborne intelligence collection and ISR mission coordination is a plus.
Skills and Attributes:
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Proactive, results-driven with a focus on safety and operational efficiency.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to pass a FAA Class 1 or Class 2 Medical Examination.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required for operational needs.
Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including on-site operational environments and travel as necessary.
Additional Information:
This position may require frequent travel and extended hours to meet operational demands.
