The Sr. Engineering Test Pilot increases productivity, efficiency, reliability, and communication. Takes details and deadlines from program management, and ensures the flight test process is followed, and fully executed up to, and including, the flight test. One coordinates fleet maintenance and oversees flight support and scheduling. Additionally, one supports Project Management for developmental product flight testing and training. Plans and manages all business area conducted flight operations to include; engineering tests, internal training, and customer demonstrations. The Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) supports the Department of Defense's efforts to create and foster commercial partnerships within multiple innovation ecosystems across the United States. It is staffed by active-duty and reserve personnel, government civilians and contracted consultants. The Chief Pilot is responsible for the professional standards of the flight crews and for implementing and maintaining flight operations policies and procedures in coordination with the Director of Operations. This position will include operating ACI Jet aircraft as well as performing associated office duties. The Chief Pilot reports directly to the Director of Flight Operations.
