We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Turbine Powered UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) Pilot to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating turbine-powered drones in both controlled and complex environments. As a UAV Pilot, you will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient operation of UAV systems, performing pre-flight and post-flight inspections, and maintaining communication with the control team during missions.
Responsibilities
Operate Group 3 turbine-powered UAVs in various environments for various mission-specific tasks.
Conduct pre-flight inspections, ensuring all systems are fully functional, and troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise before, during, or after flight.
Ensure compliance with relevant aviation regulations, safety procedures, and company policies.
Monitor real-time flight data, ensuring the UAV remains within the designated flight parameters and making necessary adjustments when required.
Collaborate with ground control teams and assist in mission planning, execution, and post-flight debriefing.
Maintain accurate flight logs and reports, including details on flight duration, fuel consumption, and any operational anomalies.
Manage and operate UAV-related equipment, including communication systems and payloads.
Ensure all required certifications and licenses are up to date and adhere to relevant aviation and UAV industry standards.
Fly and operate smaller Group 1 and Group 2 fixed-wing UAVs and rotor-wing aircraft, ensuring smooth and safe execution of missions across a variety of aircraft types.
OPERATING HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:
When not traveling, this position operates on a standard 8 hour schedule Monday - Friday with expectations of reporting onsite at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD.
TRAVEL:
The position requires CONUS and OCONUS travel to include rotational deployments of up to six months.
Travel CONUS and OCONUS (to possible conflict areas) on short notice to disseminate relevant threat information.
Qualifications
CLEARANCE:
Active Secret clearance at the time of application with ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
EDUCATION:
MA/MS degree with three (3) yrs experience.
BA/BS with four (4) yrs experience.
AA/AS with five (5) years of experience.
High school diploma or equivalent with seven (7) years of experience.
CERTIFICATION(S):
Must possess or be able to obtain a Certified FAA UAS Pilot License (FAA Part 107).
Turbine UAV Specific Training: Completion of specialized turbine UAV pilot training programs or certification courses.
Aviation Medical Certificate: A valid medical certificate, preferably FAA Class 2 or equivalent.
Radio Communication License: Must hold a valid radio operator's license (if applicable).
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Flight Logs: Must be able to provide detailed flight logs from previous UAV operations, demonstrating experience and proficiency in piloting turbine-powered and other UAV systems.
Relevant UAV Training: Completion of UAV flight training that includes turbine-powered systems or similar high-performance UAV platforms.
Radio Communication License: Must hold a valid radio operator's license (if applicable).
Safety Training: Current knowledge and experience with UAV safety protocols and emergency procedures.

* The incumbent in command of the aircraft is the final authority to the safe operation of the aircraft, interpreting weather reports from the National Weather Service and other weather reporting services to determine altitude, deviation from the planned route and determining a flight route to ensure safety.
* Assists ground units and provides airborne support for missions including patrol, aerial search and rescue missions, surveillance and information gathering.
* Works in a crew environment while maintaining pilot and mission coordination, communication, and situational awareness.
* Conducts flight missions during day and night-time conditions to search for subjects; identifies police locations; and searches for suspects and critical missing persons.
* Transports personnel and equipment as required for specialized missions, including Emergency Response Team (ERT), K-9, Dive Team, Crime Scene Search, or other departmental personnel as needed.
* Provides live video downlink to the Joint Operations Command Center (JOCC) or other command centers as well as small size mobile receivers.
* Maintains written and computerized flight logs and pilot records in compliance with applicable regulations of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), unit standard operating procedures, and other agencies as necessary.
* Reads and keeps abreast of publications and airworthiness directives from the FAA. Makes necessary adjustments to helicopter operations based on information and directives. Provides direct support to vehicle pursuits from the aircraft, which allows supervisors to manage the pursuit under departmental guidelines. Conducts aerial searches of the Washington, DC area to locate suspects that have gone in hiding in a particular area.
* Periodically conducts river and traffic observations of major thoroughfares to include, snow emergencies, highway accidents, utility road work, waterways, etc. Observes and reports roadway conditions that are severely impeding traffic. When appropriate contacts the Department of Public Works and other local agencies or jurisdictions to advise of traffic impediments.
* Works with law enforcement officials from other District and Federal government agencies, state and local jurisdictions. Serves as a liaison with air traffic control facilities and the Transportation Security Administration as necessary.
* Subject to testify in a court of law.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
Licensures, Certifications and other Requirements
Must possess and maintain a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Commercial Rotor Craft Pilot license with an Instrument Rating. (Must provide proof of license).
Must possess and maintain a current FAA 2nd Class or higher Medical Certification. (Must provide proof of certification).
Must undergo all required FAA and aircraft manufacture training as required at department expense.
Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle driver's license.
Work Experience
Must possess 1000 hours in Rotor Wing Aircraft as Pilot in Command (PIC), of which 120 hours in the last 12 months, 200 hours as PIC during night conditions. Must provide the Pilot logbook as proof of hourly PIC.
Must possess and maintain a current FAA Flight Review in Rotor Wing Aircraft.
Work Environment
The operation of the helicopter is subject to hazards and requires the incumbent to monitor aircraft systems during flights constantly. Situational awareness must be observed during flight operations. Special attention should be constantly given to environmental factors, such as terrain, wires, cranes, towers, changing weather conditions and other similar issues of concern.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
GS-2181-12 (Airplane Pilot/Helicopter Pilot):
Applicant must possess a USAF Pilot rating, hold a valid aviation service aeronautical order and have a minimum of 750 total military flight time in the organization's mission design series.
GS-2181-13 (Airplane Pilot/Helicopter Pilot):
Applicant must possess a USAF Pilot rating, hold a valid aviation service aeronautical order and have a minimum of 1,000 total military flight time in the organization's mission design series.
GS-2181-13 (Flight Instructor):

Job Category: Intelligence Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret Employee Type: Regular-Rotational Traveler Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 50% Type of Travel: Continental US * * * CACI is seeking a UAS / RAT Pilot who will be responsible for performing operational responsibilities for COTS UAS fixed-wing and rotary platforms and supporting systems to gather intelligence for mission planning, mission sensor/payload operations, launching, remotely piloting, and recovering remote piloted ground and air vehicle systems. The UAS Pilot will be available and willing to deploy to the CENTCOM AOR for up to 6-12 months at a time rotating with other deployers.
What You'll Get to Do:
+ Assist with DoD UAS system policies and procedures.
+ Aircrew training and document/flight jacket monitoring and updates.
+ Currency requirements in accordance with GFR directives.
+ Responsible for the acquisition, fabrication, modification, programming, and maintenance of multi-rotor and fixed-wing COTS UAS platforms- Group 3 and Turbines, for training and test events.
+ Launches and recovers the air vehicle, performs pre-flight, in flight, and post flight checks.
+ Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS (to possible conflict areas) on short notice in order to disseminate relevant threat information.
+ Assist with vulnerability site assessments to inform analyst team about possible use of UAS.
+ Coordinate with national and international intelligence agencies to develop data sharing capability, trend analysis and procedures.
+ Plan, coordinate and act as safety officer for flight operations during training and test events.
+ Provide comprehensive technical red-team analysis.
+ Perform all functional duties independently
+ Work and live in a small team environment.
Required Qualifications:
+ Experience with DCMA 8210, HQDA 228-24, AR951.
+ Active Secret security clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance.
+ Experience instructing large groups of low and high ranking personnel in a military environment.
+ BA/BS with 0-3yrs experience; or AA/AS and 4 years of experience; or HS/GED and 6 years of experience.
+ Experience with COTS multi-rotor and fixed-wing aircraft, to include hobbyist UAS experience
+ Demonstrate experience in pre-deployment training and knowledge exchange supporting field training exercises (FTX), Validation Exercises (VALEX), and other technical exchange events.
+ Must be able to obtain a Certified FAA UAS Pilot License.
+ Must be able to successfully complete CRC and deploy to CENTCOM theater.
+ Must be able to obtain an Amateur Radio Technician License.
+ Experience with all RPV (land, air, and sea) and ability to design/fabricate with limited instructions or pre-built kits.
+ Ability to research emerging RPV technologies, describe their advantages, and the impact to DoD capabilities.
+ Knowledge of the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP).
+ Ability to take technical RPV knowledge and inform/instruct others about the technology, capabilities and limitations, and impacts to DoD capabilities.
+ Proficient in utilizing standard MS Office computer applications and intelligence related automation to support analytical efforts and product development.
+ Define and carry out scenarios (in test events or training events) in which RPV technology can be utilized.
+ Ability to understanding and interpret customer requirements in order to influence correct use of the RPV technology at technical exchange events or test events.
+ Ability to perform independently while in other locations and interacting with other organizations and military units.
+ Ability to communicate and function effectively in a team environment

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$68,400 - 143,700 USD
