As a Corporate Pilot, you will perform duties required to act as pilot in command (Captain) on company aircraft, as scheduled.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Responsible for the safe conduct of flights and has the final authority in the operation of the flight he/she is assigned.
Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and foreign regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Prepares for each flight by analysis of all available information concerning the flight including preflight planning, documentation, airworthiness, and satisfactory personal health and well-being.
Makes decisions to start, delay, or cancel a flight or deviate a flight from planned route when operating conditions dictate.
Applies critical thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position.
Occasionally perform and assist with aircraft servicing.
Assist Captain in performance of all duties if flying as second in command (copilot).
YOU MUST HAVE
FAA Commercial Pilot certificate with multi-engine and instrument ratings.
FAA First Class airman's medical certificate.
Minimum flight experience of 3000 hours total time, 1,000 hours multi-engine time, 500 hours turbojet time.
Effective communication, professional appearance, strong customer service skills
Strong initiative and willingness to complete all required flight and administrative tasks promptly and with minimal supervision.

REQUIRED CREDENTIALS: All vessel employees are required to hold a valid Transportation Workers Identification Credential (also known as TWIC ). A valid TWIC is required by the Maritime Transportation Security Act for workers who need access to secure areas of the nation's maritime facilities and vessels. TSA conducts a security threat assessment (background check) to determine a person's eligibility and issues the credential. Information on applying and enrolling for a TWIC card can be found on the Transportation Security Administration's TWIC Website.
All pilothouse personnel are required to possess a valid U.S. Coast Guard issued Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) for the area in which they will operate. The MMC is not valid if it has been revoked or is under suspension pursuant to a lawful order. The original MMC must be shown to the Personnel Manager at the time of employment. Any subsequent change in the status of a MMC must be reported immediately to the Personnel Manager.
All pilothouse personnel must maintain a valid FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operators Permit or higher-class license.
WORK SCHEDULE: The standard work schedule for Pilothouse Personnel is 28 days on the vessel then either 14 or 28 days off. While on the boat, pilothouse personnel stand watch for 12 hours each day with the watch broken into two 6- hour watches. PHYSICAL DUTIES OF THE JOB: Pilothouse personnel must be capable of ascending and descending stairs or ladders safely, of lifting or moving equipment that may be used while they are aboard the boat, and of performing their emergency duties as listed in the Station Bill. Pilothouse personnel must know how and when to use the emergency equipment located on the boat and be able to properly wear any safety equipment required by their duties.
Pilothouse personnel must have hearing that allows them to communicate effectively in the conditions that might be encountered aboard a towboat. They are required to communicate in English with other vessels, Coast Guard stations, Corp of Engineer Lockmasters and their own crew. Communications may be via VHF radio, orally, sound signals, or hand signals.
Pilothouse personnel must have vision that allows them to safely navigate the boat in situations that are likely to occur when a boat is in navigation night and day, year-round. They must have color vision that enables them to identify navigation lights, signals, and symbols, as well as warning lights or symbols. Their depth perception must be adequate for navigation in close quarters, as in approaching locks or bridges.
Pilothouse personnel must be able to read and to understand Coast Guard Notices to Mariners, Rules of the Road, Federal Regulations, Company Directives, Corps of Engineer Publications, and River Charts. They must be able to write so as to accurately record all events in the vessel log and to communicate as required in the course of their job.
MISCELLANEOUS DUTIES: Pilothouse personnel are responsible for the overall safety of the crew, boat, tow, and cargo during their watch. It is their responsibility to safely navigate the boat and tow while assuring that the remainder of the crew performs the daily functions for which the crew is responsible. Pilothouse personnel must make certain that the boat, tow, and crew are operated in strict compliance with any and all company policies. Passenger Service: Provide the highest level of customer service, ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of passengers. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the flight, addressing any concerns or special requests.
Safety Management: Actively engage in the company's Safety Management System (SMS), promoting a proactive safety culture. Identify and mitigate risks using risk analysis tools, and participate in safety audits and corrective action processes.
Mentorship & Leadership: Mentor and guide First Officers and other flight crew members. Ensure that all crew members understand their roles and responsibilities, providing clear direction and feedback to foster professional growth.
Post-flight Duties: Complete all required post-flight documentation, including trip reports, logbook entries, and any maintenance or operational notes. Report any safety concerns or equipment issues to the maintenance team.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all flight operations comply with FAA regulations, including maintaining currency with required training, medical certifications, and company policies. Keep flight crew records up to date.
Qualifications
Required or Preferred Qualifications:
Flight Experience:
Minimum 5000 total flight hours.
2500 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC).
2500 hours multi-engine land, with 1500 hours as multi-engine PIC.
2000 hours in turbine aircraft and 500 hours instrument time.
Certifications:
Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with multi-engine land rating required.
Current First-Class Medical Certificate required.
FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator's Permit preferred.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, flight planning, and safety management systems.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Proficient in the use of flight planning and aviation management software.
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience in Part 135 operations is highly desirable.
This is an exempt position which requires flexibility to meet the demands of business.
