The selected candidate will support a wide range of test and evaluation requirements to include:
Supporting technical planning meetings, test plan development, test event planning, test procedure and flight card development, flight briefings, post event support, test reporting, and deficiency reporting.

Prepare for flight operations: Plan, organize, and execute flight plans and schedules, including review of air vehicle configuration, maintenance logs, weather reports, and weather forecasts.
Use Technical Orders, other documents, and aircraft reports to ascertain factors; such as aircraft weight and balance, fueling, route, schedule, and mechanical reliability.
Maintain ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites.
Most work will be conducted on-site at NAS Patuxent River, MD, however, some domestic travel will be required in support of flight test activities
Qualifications
Must be a graduate of a full-length course of instruction from a recognized military test pilot school, e.g. USNTPS, USAFTPS, Empire or EPNER.
Commercial pilot or a UAV Air Vehicle Operator/Pilot (AVO/P) designation by U.S. Armed Forces.
Minimum of 1,500 documented flight hours (manned and/or unmanned).
Large UAS (Group 4-5) AVP experience required; minimum 100 hours.
Five years relevant experience, to include three years of Test Project Officer experience, desired.
Fixed-wing and/or carrier-based flight experience highly desired.
Experience with air-to-air refueling preferred.
Able to demonstrate effective oral and written communications skills.
Active Department of Defense Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret.
Active FAA Second Class medical certificate (at time of hire).

Main Purpose of Job An MSP Pilot I-A, Second-in-Command, is the intermediate level of civilian helicopter pilot work within MSP Aviation Command (MSPAC). Employees in this classification will act as the Second-in-Command (SIC) pilot of helicopters enumerated in the MSPAC Standard Operating Procedures, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Rules and Regulations and as mandated by the Director of Flight Operations or the MSPAC Commander. Employees conduct flight operations in accordance with FAA rules and regulations for search and rescue missions, medical evacuation operations, and other law enforcement related missions. Employees ensure all MSPAC and FAA Regulations concerning operation of Department aircraft are strictly followed. Ensures aircraft are in a constant state of readiness and shall notify the Maryland State Police Pilot II (Pilot-in-Command) or appropriate supervisor of any discrepancy of a grounding nature. Employees ensure all records concerning the aircraft are maintained according to established protocol. Employees work in conjunction with the Pilot-in-Command, flight paramedic and other passengers to form the crew. POSITION DUTIES Flies MSPAC aircraft as SIC for aero-medical missions, search and rescue missions, homeland security, disaster assessments, prisoner extradition, personnel transport and other law-enforcement related missions according to FAA rules and regulations;
Conducts pre-flight and post-flight inspections in accordance with MSPAC and FAA regulations and standards;
Performs maintenance functions that include cleaning aircraft interiors and exteriors, refueling and adding necessary fluids, and replacing light bulbs;
Performs routine maintenance of hangar and office facilities;
Operates specialized flight-related equipment, such as tow motors;
Recommends go/no-go flight risk management decisions related to weather conditions, maintenance, and other flight safety considerations;
Completes paperwork required by the MSPAC and Maryland State Police such as flight operation logs, aircraft logs, and other documents;
Completes required training courses and exercises in compliance with FAA and MSPAC regulations;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Twelve hundred (1200) helicopter or fixed wing flight hours as a FAA certificated pilot.

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Turbine Powered UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) Pilot to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating turbine-powered drones in both controlled and complex environments. As a UAV Pilot, you will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient operation of UAV systems, performing pre-flight and post-flight inspections, and maintaining communication with the control team during missions.
Responsibilities
Operate Group 3 turbine-powered UAVs in various environments for various mission-specific tasks.
Conduct pre-flight inspections, ensuring all systems are fully functional, and troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise before, during, or after flight.
Ensure compliance with relevant aviation regulations, safety procedures, and company policies.
Monitor real-time flight data, ensuring the UAV remains within the designated flight parameters and making necessary adjustments when required.
Collaborate with ground control teams and assist in mission planning, execution, and post-flight debriefing.

Manage and operate UAV-related equipment, including communication systems and payloads.

OPERATING HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:
When not traveling, this position operates on a standard 8 hour schedule Monday - Friday with expectations of reporting onsite at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD.
TRAVEL:
The position requires CONUS and OCONUS travel to include rotational deployments of up to six months.
Travel CONUS and OCONUS (to possible conflict areas) on short notice to disseminate relevant threat information.
Qualifications
CLEARANCE:
Active Secret clearance at the time of application with ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
EDUCATION:
MA/MS degree with three (3) yrs experience.
BA/BS with four (4) yrs experience.
AA/AS with five (5) years of experience.
High school diploma or equivalent with seven (7) years of experience.
CERTIFICATION(S):
Must possess or be able to obtain a Certified FAA UAS Pilot License (FAA Part 107).
Turbine UAV Specific Training: Completion of specialized turbine UAV pilot training programs or certification courses.

The Senior UAS Pilot will serve as the lead operator at designated event locations, providing technical expertise, safety oversight, and detailed flight log documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Flight Operations:
Plan, execute, and lead UAS sorties (Red Team and Blue Team) as outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW), including predetermined flight patterns and CONOPS for counter-UAS (C-UAS) and UAS performance research.
Operate fixed-wing and quadcopter UAS platforms from remote, uncovered outdoor sites (e.g., Point Judith, RI) in conditions with winds exceeding 25 knots and limited facilities (e.g., power from 120-volt outlets 100 feet from launch/recovery sites).

Coordinate with USCG personnel and other team members to ensure mission success and adherence to safety protocols.

AVIAN is seeking an MQ-25A Stingray Air Vehicle Pilot (AVP) to join the Navy's dedicated UAV test squadron, UX-24, in Patuxent River, Maryland. Become part of a dynamic team of military, government, and contractors who are on the forefront of Naval Aviation and are working to introduce the newest Navy unmanned aircraft into the airwing of the future. We are looking for a subject matter expert in large (Group 4-5) unmanned aircraft with carrier-based fight operation experience to take the MQ-25A from first-flight through introduction to the carrier airwing, and beyond.

Responsibilities
The selected candidate will support a wide range of test and evaluation requirements to include:
Supporting technical planning meetings, test plan development, test event planning, test procedure and flight card development, flight briefings, post event support, test reporting, and deficiency reporting.
Act as and Air Vehicle Pilot (AVP) and Unmanned Aircraft Commander (UAC) aircraft for MQ-25A flight test operations.
Coordinate and actively participate in UAS ground and flight operations, including mission planning, test flight execution, flight briefing and debriefing, aircrew resource management, risk management, and flight safety reporting.
Prepare for flight operations: Plan, organize, and execute flight plans and schedules, including review of air vehicle configuration, maintenance logs, weather reports, and weather forecasts.
Use Technical Orders, other documents, and aircraft reports to ascertain factors; such as aircraft weight and balance, fueling, route, schedule, and mechanical reliability.
Maintain ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites.
Most work will be conducted on-site at NAS Patuxent River, MD, however, some domestic travel will be required in support of flight test activities
Qualifications
Must be a graduate of a full-length course of instruction from a recognized military test pilot school, e.g. USNTPS, USAFTPS, Empire or EPNER.
Commercial pilot or a UAV Air Vehicle Operator/Pilot (AVO/P) designation by U.S. Armed Forces.
Minimum of 1,500 documented flight hours (manned and/or unmanned).
Large UAS (Group 4-5) AVP experience required; minimum 100 hours.
Five years relevant experience, to include three years of Test Project Officer experience, desired.
Fixed-wing and/or carrier-based flight experience highly desired.
Experience with air-to-air refueling preferred.
Able to demonstrate effective oral and written communications skills.
Active Department of Defense Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret.
Active FAA Second Class medical certificate (at time of hire).
Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
The salary range for this role is $165,000-$240,000. (
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.)
