Primary role is to provide ground Law Enforcement units with an additional resource and aerial perspective to assist in the success of their mission. As a licensed civilian pilot, consistently updates knowledge of MCSO aircraft systems, FAA regulations, aircraft avionics, and radio systems. Maintains aircraft and record-keeping logs in accordance with federal, state and agency procedures. Is available on call with availability 24/7 for emergencies. Ensures the safe operation and piloting of all MCSO aircraft to perform at optimum functioning capability. We are seeking professional drone pilots to join our team for an exciting project involving the final assembly, inspection, and field testing of a fleet of 270 drones. Position Overview GlobalX is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Pilot to lead our flight operations team. This role reports directly to the SVP, Flight Operations / DO and is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient flight operations. The Chief Pilot will oversee pilot training, operational policies, and regulatory compliance while maintaining strong leadership and problem-solving capabilities. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Miami-remote work is not available. Key Responsibilities Ensure flight operations comply with all applicable FAA regulations and company policies. Oversee pilot hiring, training, and standardization of flight procedures. Serve as a primary liaison with regulatory agencies, including the FAA. Report and follow up on safety incidents, ensuring corrective actions are implemented. Develop and maintain flight standards and operational procedures. Participate in route planning and fleet expansion initiatives. Maintain pilot currency by flying at least three sequences or landings per month. Be available 24/7 for operational or safety-sensitive issues. Qualifications & Requirements FAA-issued Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with type rating for at least one aircraft operated by GlobalX. Experience: If first-time Chief Pilot: Minimum 3 years' experience in the past 6 years as PIC of a large aircraft under Part 121 or Part 135 operations. If previously a Chief Pilot: Minimum 3 years' experience as PIC of a large aircraft under Part 121 or Part 135 operations. Must be a current and qualified Captain with no training failures. Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, CFRs, and ability to interpret and write operational procedures. Excellent leadership, decision-making, and communication skills. Ability to work variable schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed. Work Schedule Standard Schedule: Monday to Friday, weekends off (except when serving as duty officer). On-call availability: 24/7 for operational or safety-sensitive matters. Must maintain flight proficiency through regular flying assignments. Oversee recurrent training and conduct periodic evaluations of flight crews. Flight Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly review flight data and operational performance to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous optimization of flight operations. Provide operational reports to senior leadership, including incident/accident reports, safety audits, and crew performance reviews. Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as Maintenance, Logistics, and Intelligence, to ensure operational objectives are met. Coordinate with government agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth execution of airborne ISR missions. Pilot Qualifications: FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate or Commercial Pilot Certificate with appropriate endorsements. Minimum of 10 years of flight experience, including time as a pilot-in-command (PIC) in military and general aviation settings. Previous experience in DCMA, Part 91, and Part 135 flight operations, with a strong understanding of regulatory compliance. Previous experience in Airborne ISR operations preferred. Leadership Experience: At least 5 years of leadership experience in aviation, particularly in flight operations management, crew leadership, or training. Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor a team of flight professionals while maintaining a high standard of operational excellence. Military Experience: Military aviation experience (Air Force, Army, Navy, or equivalent) is highly desirable, particularly in ISR operations, flight training, and operational management. Operational Expertise: Extensive knowledge of aviation regulations (FAA, DCMA, and military). In-depth experience with Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations, including flight planning, crew scheduling, and operational oversight. Familiarity with airborne intelligence collection and ISR mission coordination is a plus. Skills and Attributes: Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. The individuals primary responsibility would be to fly realistic adversary air tactics in support of the ANG and Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC). Additional responsibilities include operating the simulator console during missions to simulate threat representative tactics, defenses, and engagements against blue forces.
