JOB SUMMARY
Ensures all operations involving Company aircraft are in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, Air Evac EMS Operations Manual, and all state and municipal regulations.
Operates the aircraft in a safe and efficient manner, with emphasis on compliance with the Rotorcraft Flight Manual
Monitors forecast changes and current weather situations
Conducts preflight of the aircraft prior to starting shift and/or accepting transports or flights. Preflight will be conducted utilizing the appropriate rotorcraft flight manual. Discrepancies noted during the pre-flight will be noted in the engineering log with a notification to maintenance of the discrepancy and what corrective action is being taken
Reports to his/her shift rested and prepared for duty and stays current of weather and forecast changes

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Pilot, Second in Command (SIC) reports directly to the designated Pilot-in-Command (PIC) assigned to the flight. The SIC reports to the Chief Pilot regarding Company policies and procedures. Duties will involve FAR Part 91/135 operations as part of a crew.
The SIC has the following responsibility for safe transportation of passengers, crewmembers, and cargo during all aircraft operations. He / She may delegate duties but not the responsibility of those duties.
To serve as SIC in any aircraft he/she must hold an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with the appropriate category and class rating and be qualified for their assigned position.
Candidate must be located within 90 minutes of Addison, TX. If not currently local, relocation to the Addison, TX area is required for this position.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assisting the Pilot-in-Command during all phases of flight in accordance with Company procedures to include:
The suitability of the weather,
Routing,
Airports, traffic conditions,
Airway facilities along the route to be flown,
Aircraft performance,
Respecting aircraft performance (i.e., takeoff, en-route, landing, special operations, mountainous airports, etc.), Flight Crewmembers shall strictly adhere to Company operating policies and procedures so as to mitigate the potential of controlled flight into terrain (CFIT).
Completion of duties assigned by the Pilot-in-Command.
Ensuring that manuals, charts, catering and other customer specific special items are onboard the aircraft and that the aircraft is clean.
Develop the leadership skills, knowledge, judgment and technical ability required to become a Captain.
The Second-in-Command must adhere to the Certificate Holders directions and instructions, and compliance with all operations specifications, regulations and policies set forth in this manual with regard to operational control under Part 135. Failure to do so by the SIC may result in legal action by the FAA.
Comply with all regulatory, operations specifications and policies and procedures contained in this manual.
Carry out all duties and responsibilities in a "professional manner" at all times.
Responsibilities as the Ground Security Coordinator [GSC]
If designated as the GSC, must be present while security procedures for the departing flight are carried out and must ensure that all security requirements for each flight are monitored prior to departure. These security requirements include, but are not limited to:
Ensuring that the aircraft is monitored during any servicing that requires access to aircraft.
Monitoring any non-routine ground security procedures where they are in effect.
Communicating all information that could affect the security of that flight to the ISC before the flight departs (where the designated GSC is not also the designated ISC). Communication may be verbal, written, or electronic.
Maintaining a liaison with the airport operator for purpose of sharing information regarding security concerns at the airport.
Other duties as assigned by the Pilot-in-Command and / or the Chief Pilot.
