Maintain accurate company and regulatory documentation and record keeping for shifts, load manifests, etc.
Effectively communicate and collaborate with both air and ground dispatch, flight crews, facilities and partners.
Provide shift change info to transitioning pilot and team, and follows protocols for recording company change board details.
Pilots are accountable to maintain required certifications and ongoing ground and air training.
Working Conditions:
Required to work in outside weather conditions.
May need to deice the plane, assist with towing the aircraft and maneuvering in and out of the hangar, prep the plane for flight.
Physical Demands:
Required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
May assist with loading patients-lifting requirement of 70 lbs.

Taquan Air in Ketchikan is looking to fill seasonal full-time pilot positions starting May 1st, 2024 through September 30th, 2024. We operate DeHavilland Beavers and Turbine Otters on straight floats exclusively. All pilot positions involve flying freight and mail to multiple destinations near Ketchikan, as well as on and around Prince of Wales Island. The summer season will include flight seeing tours to the Misty Fjords National Monument and surrounding areas. Applicants must be physically fit and able to load and unload cargo, have good customer service skills, be able to work well with others as part of a team, with good judgement and a safety-first frame of mind.
REQUIREMENTS FOR PILOTS:

* Ensuring that a flight will not be commenced if a flight crew member is incapacitated from performing duties by any cause such as injury, sickness, fatigue, or the effects of any psychoactive substance;
* Ensuring that the flight will not be continued beyond the nearest suitable aerodrome or heliport, when a flight crew member's capacity to perform functions is significantly reduced by impairment of faculties from causes such as fatigue, sickness or lack of oxygen,
* Responsibility for operational control as outlined in GOM 2.4;
* Responsibility for the security of the aircraft during its operation;
* Checking and assessing weather and all applicable NOTAMs where available;
* Determining fuel, oil and requirements;
* Determining the aircraft weight and balance limits;
* Ensuring that all flight planning requirements have been met;
* Ensuring that the aircraft is airworthy, duly registered and that the documentation and operational information are onboard the aircraft;
* Completing an aircraft pre-flight inspection as per the aircraft flight manual, before each departure;
* Ensuring that carriage of HazMat is packaged and stowed I/A/W 49 CFR 100-177 and accompanying paperwork is complete and signed;
* Briefing the passengers in accordance with the requirements specified in FAR Part 135;
* Operating the aircraft in accordance with Grasshopper Aviation procedures and aircraft limitations;
* Completing all post flight duties as specified in the company operations manual, recording flight times and aircraft defects;
* Notifying the nearest appropriate authority by the quickest available means of any accident involving the aircraft, resulting in serious injury or death of any person or substantial damage to the aircraft or property;
* Submitting a report to the designated local authority following an act of unlawful interference;
* Completing the aircraft log book;
As soon as possible, report to the appropriate air traffic services (ATS) unit any hazardous weather or flight conditions encountered that are likely to affect the safety of other aircraft; and
Participating in the safety management system, as detailed in Section 2.1.2.

Maritime Helicopters, Inc. (Homer, Alaska) is now accepting resumes for experienced fixed-wing pilots to fill a fulltime PA-32 Cherokee 6 PIC position.
Applicants must possess at least a Commercial/Instrument rating for single-engine land with a minimum of 1500 PIC hours and at least 100 hours Alaska Time or equivalent. Flying will be under Part 135 on-demand day-VFR operations out of Homer, Alaska. Applicants living in Alaska within commuting distance of Homer are preferred; out of state commuters will not be considered.
