Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assure orders and quantities on shipping documents are correct through careful audit of documents and components to verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare orders for shipment using proper packaging, including as necessary, the use of hand tools, panel saws, chop saws, nail gun, and staple gun to fabricate wood components and assemble crate to pack finished product. Ship orders using FEDEX, UPS, XCarrier and other methods through carriers' processes. Assist and evaluate needs with shipping points, services, weights and other information. Notify consignee of shipment arrival Enter data pertaining to domestic and international shipments into ISO forms, i.e. shipment confirmation, and into the shipping systems of commercial freight carriers. Monitor the supply of packaging materials and requisition additional supplies as required. Confirm physical shipment of goods, facilitate tracking of packages. Identify errors on packing lists and ensure the accuracy of all shipping documents by strict adherence to standard operation procedures. Maintain all data and records relative to shipping activities. Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers Read blueprints, data, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures. Mark items with details such as acceptance-rejection status Unload and load delivery trucks using a forklift. Deliver materials to departments using work devices such as hand truck, forklift, overhead crane or other methods.
