Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing situations. Must possess basic computer skills. All on-site staff and contractors must be fully vaccinated per CDC and state guidelines. Prior VA or compensation exam experience is a plus but not required. Job Summary: Review pertinent medical history documentation and provide veterans with one-time, non-treatment compensation and pension exams. The TBI Provider will capture responses during the exam through web-based examination form(s); all documentation will be completed electronically. Completed exams are sent to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability award determinations. Common reasons for assessment: motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries, and, for a few, combat exposure. Diagnostic testing may include Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) testing if clinically indicated and neuropsychological testing; any neuropsychological testing will be referred to a neuropsychologist. Work Schedule: Normal schedule is 9 hours between 6:30am and 5:30pm, with a one-hour lunch On-Call: Up to 2 weeks per month Call-Back required, minimal Practice Specific Details and Tasks: The duties include, but are not limited to the following: Shall be monitored by the 96th Medical Group's Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan, Shall participate in the monthly peer review process of clinical skills; a minimum of 10 routine cases seen in the last 30 days. This will involve both a review of his/her patient care via review of clinical notes and or performance. Shall also provide the same peer review for the other Gastroenterology physicians. Provide outpatient services for patients as scheduled by the MTF. Provide inpatient consultation. This will include new patients when consults are requested by the health care team. The Gastroenterologist must be able to perform unsupervised and be able to supervise house staff performing gastroenterology procedures. See new patient consults and established follow-up clinic visits. The provider is expected to respond to telephone consults and inform patients of lab and radiology results in a timely manner. Provide inpatient, urgent, and same day consultations on a "walk-in" basis Shall perform Gastroenterology-related procedures that are medically indicated to include, but not limited to: conscious sedation, Upper Endoscopies (including dilations, gastrostomy tube/PEG placement, and control of bleeding), Flexible Sigmoidoscopies (including hemorrhoid banding), Colonoscopies (including polypectomies, control of bleeding) and Paracentesis. Performance of Percutaneous Liver Biopsy and Interventional Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is highly desired. Documentation. Contractor employees shall prepare all documentation to meet or exceed established MTF standards, to include, but not limited to: timeliness, accuracy, content, and signature. Contractor employees shall only use MTF and Air Force-approved abbreviations for documentation in the patient health records and follow the MTF's Do Not Use Abbreviation List. Health care providers shall complete medical records documentation within 72 business hours of the encounter with the patient. Coding. Matrix Providers is hiring a Traumatic Brain Injury Provider (Psychiatrist, Neurologist, or Physiatrist PM&R) to join our team of talented medical professionals to conduct a one-time, non-treatment Veteran Disability Exam in Pensacola, FL & Mobile, AL.

Employment Status: Part Time, Independent Contractor

Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly.

Schedule: Part time, one day per week. Floating between Pensacola, FL and Mobile, AL. There is room for flexibility between the two sites if volume fluctuates. TH capable as well as volume dictates between F2F and TH.

Requirements: The Traumatic Brain Injury Provider (Psychiatrist, Neurologist, or Physiatrist PM&R) must meet the following qualifications:

Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) or Neurology, with experience in evaluating for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

Primary care experience is required.

Hold and maintain an active and unrestricted license in the specialty field of M.D. or D.O. for your employment.

Certification: Have an active and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing situations.

Must possess basic computer skills.

All on-site staff and contractors must be fully vaccinated per CDC and state guidelines.

Prior VA or compensation exam experience is a plus but not required.

Job Summary:

Review pertinent medical history documentation and provide veterans with one-time, non-treatment compensation and pension exams.

The TBI Provider will capture responses during the exam through web-based examination form(s); all documentation will be completed electronically. Completed exams are sent to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability award determinations.

Common reasons for assessment: motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries, and, for a few, combat exposure.

Diagnostic testing may include Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) testing if clinically indicated and neuropsychological testing; any neuropsychological testing will be referred to a neuropsychologist.

Ancillaries (X-rays, labs, EKGs, PFTs, ABIs) may be ordered and will be conducted on location or nearby.
