Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate PRN Phlebotomist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care, excellent interpersonal skills, and proficiency in phlebotomy. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for performing biometric screenings, including venous blood draws, finger sticks, blood pressure checks, and other health assessments, at various client locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform venous and capillary blood collection efficiently and safely.
Perform testing via CardioCheck+ machines utilizing finger-stick sample collection.
Conduct biometric screenings including blood pressure (automated and manual), BMI, body fat measurements, and other health metrics.
Ensure proper labeling, handling, and transportation of blood specimens.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of participant information.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe and sterile environment.
Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professional team members to provide a comprehensive health screening experience.
Provide services at various screening sites as needed (reliable transportation is required).

As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for obtaining quality blood samples using a variety of phlebotomy methods for all age groups. Methods may include venous, capillary, arterial, and line collections. Not all locations use all methods. You will provide rapid response to medical emergencies such as traumas and codes.

Certificates from a technical college where the course was taken are not sufficient. The Phlebotomist must have sat for a certification exam from an agency such as those listed above or must possess one of the following valid certifications: Medical Assistant (MA) certification from an approved agency such as the American Medical Association (AMA), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Technologist (MT) certification.

About this Role:
Under the guidance of our Medical Director and Regional Collections Manager, you'll assist with the collection of blood and blood products. As a phlebotomist, you will ensure a positive and comfortable experience for our donor volunteers, helping them feel valued and informed throughout the donation process. You will be trained in blood drawing procedures and will handle various tasks, from managing donor information to maintaining strict infection control practices. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for obtaining quality blood samples using a variety of phlebotomy methods for all age groups. Methods may include venous, capillary, arterial, and line collections. Not all locations use all methods. You will provide rapid response to medical emergencies such as traumas and codes.
Working as a Phlebotomist at Mayo Clinic, you will be working both independently and as a team, actively partnering with team members by fostering an inclusive work environment, and respecting others with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. You will interact with patients, nurses, providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. A variety of computer programs and systems will be used throughout your daily routine. Certificates from a technical college where the course was taken are not sufficient. The Phlebotomist must have sat for a certification exam from an agency such as those listed above or must possess one of the following valid certifications: Medical Assistant (MA) certification from an approved agency such as the American Medical Association (AMA), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Technologist (MT) certification.
