Currently Licensed as a registered pharmacist in the state of employment. Possess a minimum of two years recent experience in an acute-care setting or one-year recent experience in home infusion therapy. Possess experience and strong knowledge base in intravenous admixture services and intravenous therapy. Must be capable of assuming responsibility for evaluating and monitoring drug therapy relative to the total needs/problems of the home care patient in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Can work effectively with others to provide safe and effective drug therapy. Can communicate, both verbally and written, with patients, clients, management, and other employees. Can problem solve and supervise technical and other support staff. Must be flexible with work schedule. Possess good organizational and time-management skills. Participation and membership in professional societies and organizations is desirable. Dependable in attendance and job performance. The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for the overall operation, management and direction of St. John's centralized pharmacy and decentralized dispensary model. The Staff Pharmacist reports to the Pharmacy Director (PD) and works closely with the Chief of Pharmacy and Clinic Director and other clinic managers where a dispensary or pharmacy exists. St. John's has dispensaries in eight locations in Southern California serving 140,000 patient visits annually. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
